I was in an eatery for lunch and I saw a boy of less than two years old having a concoction (concoction is the African version of talisman, juju and neckline dedicated to idols in Africa for the purpose of protection) hanging all over his neck like a necklace.  I spoke with the mother and she told me the boy’s father died less than a month ago and the child has lived with the necklace since birth because she believes that without it he will die from constant, persistent shock.  I told her that the concoction was too tight on the boy’s neck and that Jesus can remove it without any trouble from anything or anyone.  She thanked me but begged me to leave the child alone.  But the child climbed onto my lap and hung onto me as if begging me to help him live a normal life.  Then the child refused to be carried by any other person, even by his mother.  I was filled with compassion and promised the mother that I will cut the concoction from the boy’s neck.  The mother asked me to make a pledge that if anything were to happen when the concoction was removed, I would be held responsible.  I agreed and I removed the concoction and off came the load and lies of the devil.  20 minutes later, the child was sleeping on my lap and the mother asked me to take the child to church.  The child stayed with me for about four to five hours before the child went back to his mother without any harassment from anywhere.  There was great rejoicing when the testimony was reenacted in our church yesterday evening.
