A member of the workshop became despondent because she had been looking at the things she did not have as well as the things she was not yet capable of doing or achieving for the Lord.  She found that she was becoming more and more tired and she was experiencing an increasing dizzy sensation over the past week, which was like one of the symptoms she had before being miraculously healed of lupus whereby she had been in the terminal stage over sixteen years ago.

Jesus’ words are truth and it is written in Hebrews 4.12 that the word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

So, as Jesus said in Luke 8.18, “…whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him,” she began to experience the life and the truth of His words as that which she had, that is, the miraculous healing she had received and had been living each day by, was being taken from her.

Upon receiving a rebuke for indulging in self-pity and putting into action the antidote, which is also in Luke 8.18, “Whoever has will be given more…” she began to take stock of and give thanks for all that she has, whether material such as food to eat and shelter or spiritual such as a personal relationship with the Lord, and even the things that she doesn’t have such as no earthquakes beneath her.  And as she put Jesus’ words into action, she found the despondency disappeared and life regained control in her almost instantly.
