Spirit of Kingship I

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all Creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Enthronement of Jesus in your heart and mind as your King… now that sounds great. What a fantastic idea, what a rallying war cry as it were, and for many, that is all it will be. So be sober, elect, for many are those who are not sincere who will join us, for God has already forewarned us of these days: “…and many who are not sincere will join them.”

As we embark on this way that is beyond what is written – for nowhere in Scripture is the Holy Spirit known as the ‘Spirit of Kingship’, so as such, we are going against what Paul taught the Corinthians: “Do not go beyond what is written” – understand that the way of the King is actually the fulfilment of everything that has been written to its utmost.

It has always been, as I have already pointed out, God’s will and desire to be King over His own nation, over His own people on Earth, and He had chosen the children of Jacob to be such a nation, except they refused Him the honour and in the end they even rejected Him as their God. The sending of Jesus then was not just to salvage this world and reveal the Father, but also to resurrect this dead hope and dream of God to be King over His own nation of Earth… which is why Jesus began to teach on the Kingdom of God right up to the day of His ascension… but nobody took any notice, except Paul. And we see these last lines of Luke in Acts 28: For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. Boldly and without hindrance he preached the Kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.

You see, by the end of the apostolic age for Paul, the Kingdom of God had not yet come… it was still to come, which is why he could only preach about it and not teach it like he taught about the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ had come and gone and men and women had witnessed His time on Earth, so they were able to teach, not preach, what they knew of Jesus rather than what they believed of Jesus. It was only when the generation of eyewitnesses had passed away that the preachers of various christs could arise with their fanciful stories to draw people after themselves, with many inventing their own judgement as to the divinity and position of Jesus in relation to the Father, generating the various heresies that encumber us to this very day. Paul knew Jesus, for he had seen Him many times, and had a ministry of signs, wonders and miracles done with great perseverance, which testified to his gospel that he had received from Jesus personally – a gospel not given to him by any other man or taught to him. But Luke tells us he could not teach about the Kingdom of God in Acts 28… only preach. You teach what you know and you preach about what you believe based on what you know.

Paul knew that there is such a kingdom as the Kingdom of God, for Jesus had mentioned it often enough, and be in no doubt that Jesus would have spoken to Paul about the Kingdom of God in the same way as He did to the eleven, and may I say, not the Lord, even more… for it was Paul who defined for us the attributes of the Kingdom of God in Romans 14.17 and 1 Corinthians 4.20, so that we know the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating, drinking or talking but of power and righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Paul could not teach it but only preach it, because the people of his day, certainly his contemporaries, were not prepared to have Jesus enthroned.

Certainly not James the Younger whose prime motive was the restoration of the kingdom to Israel to which he was the heir to its throne, for James was the son of David. Jesus only had Joseph as a foster father, unless the bloodline of David was also somehow physically in Mary, the mother. Scripture is silent on this, so let us not speculate; there has been enough of that during the last two millenniums.

For a king without a people is a king without a kingdom, just as a people without a king is a people without a kingdom. It takes both a king and a people to have a kingdom. It is when a few and then a few more and a few more again come together and submit themselves to the one who is king as his people that there is truly a kingdom, and that submission lays not in the words or even actions of the people, but in the very thoughts and attitudes of the hearts of the people.

So, whether we have truly enthroned Jesus in our hearts lays not with our words and actions, but in the privacy of our hearts – it is our attitude towards Him that prove us liars or men of truth.

Since a man of truth is one who works for the honour of the one who sent him… then the one who works for the One who sent him as if He is the King is truly one who has and will enthrone Jesus in his heart, and later on Earth in Heavenly glory. Those who are not sincere are those who will join in, like rabble do, saying and doing what seems to be right, but their hearts are only after what honour and glory they can get for themselves. It is their reward they are concerned with, including their name and their reputation, even if all the while they may be espousing glory and honour to their ‘King’.

It is then, elect, your attitude and the attitude of your thoughts in your mind and, more importantly, your heart that determines your sincerity in this venture. And the word of God is more than able to judge and reveal them, so be humble and be in continuous repentance even, for the greater the honour, the greater the humility needed and the greater the need for repentance.

Your attitudes govern your spirit. Indeed, the words ‘attitude’ and ‘spirit’ are similes in this language – your attitude determines your spirit and your spirit reinforces your attitude and when your attitude to Jesus is that of a loyal citizen in His service for His honour and glory who is your King, then you have the attitude of making and treating Him as King, and your spirit becomes a spirit of kingship. It is this spirit in you, when it is one with the Holy Spirit, which gives the Holy Spirit the essence of glory that changes Him from the Spirit of Sonship to the Spirit of Kingship as well, for such is the Law of Oneness. When two are one then what one becomes and is the other becomes and is as well, indistinguishable but individually so. (This is the law that underwrites the Law of the Temple, which says whatever touches the temple is holy because the temple is holy.)

This gift, which each of you can give to the Holy Spirit in return for all His gifts as a harvest, if you like, of His efforts, is that which takes Him and you beyond what is written, and He, the Spirit of the Lord, is able to exercise and manifest all that He is as the Spirit of Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Counsel, Power, the Fear of the Lord, Truth, Life, Holiness, Grace, Revelation and Glory… not as the Spirit of Sonship but now in His new role – that which He was not but now is, because He has become what He will be – the Spirit of Kingship.

His wisdom and knowledge through to His glory can now flow from Him through you, not as one who is being raised to be a son as Jesus is the Son, but as a king as Jesus is the King. He is in a sense free from the bounds of what is written to reveal what is not written but has always been there in the mind of God, of which He knows so well, to manifest and make known the thoughts of God about Jesus and all who are in Him when Jesus is King! That which God would do on Earth if only He had a kingdom on Earth can now be made known. To this date we have only seen what God can do as God who has servants on Earth like Noah, Moses, Elijah and Elisha, but what God can do and would do if He had a whole nation – a multitude of Noah’s, Moses’, Elijah’s, Elisha’s, Peter’s, James’ and John’s – all who serve Him as their King and not as God – history has not yet recorded. Israel only revealed what God can do through a nation that obeys Him as God… but then many other nations have obeyed their gods as ‘God’ as well. The church has only shown the world what can be done when their Founder is venerated religiously, but then Jesus is not the only man who founded a great religion.

No, elect, what God would do if He were King of His own nation and now what God the Father would do for His Son who has a nation of His own, no eyes have seen, no ears have heard or mind conceived. But more amazingly, neither has the eyes of God nor the ears of God, nor the mind of God conceived what those who make Him their King have prepared for Those whom they love – the Father, the King; the Son, the King; and the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Kingship.

For you see, as Paul reminded us in Romans 9.25: As He says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘My people’ who are not My people; and I will call her ‘My loved one’ who is not My loved one,” but nowhere have people ever called Him, “my King” who is not my King. Israel, the chosen nation, never called Him “King”. They didn’t want Him as their King. The disciples never called Him “King,” only “Lord,” “Rabbi,” “Teacher”… and the Holy Spirit was only their Counsellor, Comforter, Paracletos, so that the church would prosper, not so that they would know how to make Jesus King.

Your attitude, elect, of your heart is judged by the word of God, but when your attitudes and thoughts, take the Word of God to the place where there is nothing written, then the word itself, though it is sharper than a double-edged sword, cannot judge you. Jesus has said, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

When Israel said to Samuel, “Give us a king to lead us,” they judged God as being unfit to be their King. Their rejection of God as their King was their judgement of God, so they wanted another. And by and by, the measure they used against God was measured to them, so to this day after almost 2400 years they are still without a king or a kingdom… “time, times and a half.”

However, when you, elect, say to Jesus, “Be my King,” and then obey Him and treat Him as your King, even preparing for His coronation for Him, even bringing all His enemies down before Him… you likewise have made a judgement, a decision. You have broken the word of Jesus so you will pay its consequences.

Since you have judged, so you too will be judged. In the same way you judge Jesus, you will be judged. And with the measure you use, so it will be measured to you…

Whenever a man judges that Jesus is worthy to be his Saviour and calls out His Name, even repenting, so with the measure he has used, it is measured to him and he is saved.

Whenever a person judges that Jesus is indeed the Son of God and God is His Father, so in the same way as he has judged it is measured to him, and the Spirit of Sonship is baptised upon him so that he too is a child of God.

Whenever a person judges Jesus to be untrue, false or whatever, so in the same measure that he has used, it will be measured to him and he will be found to be false, untrue or whatever when all is revealed.

So now, if your attitude and thought is such that your spirit has Kingship in mind and action for Jesus, then it will likewise be judged and measured to you and by and by, as you enthrone Jesus on Earth in Heavenly glory, so likewise you will find yourself enthroned on Earth in Heavenly glory.

So now, with the glory He gave us that we might be one as They are One, so we return the glory, for as the glory has changed us, so now that same glory will change Them, for we have decided, we have chosen, we have judged and it is my judgement, to borrow a few words of James, that we should not make it difficult for God who has turned to Jews and Gentiles to raise up a kingdom for Himself. Instead, we should with one voice and one accord, disperse of all irrelevant religiosities that add nothing to eternal life, Theirs or ours, but simply write to them telling them They, Father and Son, are our King forever and forever. For the Kingdom of God has been preached in every city from the earliest times and its parables read in every church every Sunday – now it is time for the Kingdom to come.

So, as we once cried out, “Abba, Father,” by the Spirit of Sonship They sent to us, like children seeking solace from a loving Father, desperate for love, provisions, blessings and deliverance with all sincerity… so now we cry, “My King, my King,” to Them who were introduced to Moses as, “The Lord, the Lord,” as citizens who want their King enthroned in their midst with unmatchable glory… and by that same glory send to Them the Spirit of Kingship.

Come, King Jesus, come. Amen, hallelujah! Come and reign forever and forever.

Never again shall God have to contemplate these words: “These people come near Me with their mouth and honour Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is made up only of rules taught by men.”

For those who want Jesus enthroned on Earth in Heavenly glory do not go near to Jesus who is at the right hand of the Father, but Jesus must come to them from His Father’s side, for their hearts are convinced that He is alive at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, though they do not see Him, and the honour they have for Jesus is not only from their lips but from their hands as the Earth is made ready. Since no man has come to this place, then the rules of worship are not taught by men, but by the Spirit of Kingship who dwells in them. No, it is not written, but now it will be, for our God is becoming what He will be.

Better to be destroyed forever for making Jesus King of the Earth than to have lived and never tried.

Dr Ed.
