According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will come down from Heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.[1]

The apostle Paul clearly stated that which he was revealing to the church was according to the Lord’s own word, words that are not recorded in the four Gospels, except concerning how He would arrive. “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the Earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the Heavens to the other.”[2] “…from the ends of the Earth to the ends of the Heavens.”[3]

So then, we know what the trumpet call of 1 Thessalonians 4:16 is for. Jesus said it was to send His angels to gather the elect. As such, the trumpet call is not a call to gather together but to send out, and it is the angels who are sent out, and the elect who are gathered. Revelation 11:12 tells us what the loud command is: “Come up here.” And they went up to Heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on. They’ are the two witnesses; men who have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the Earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.[4]

So, when Paul emphasised twice, we who are still alive, who are left… we who are still alive and are left… he is really conveying to the reader, no the hearer, that there is a group who are left to the very last. A group who will witness the gathering of the elect from the four ends of the Earth and the raising and ascension of the two witnesses of Revelation 11. And finally, they are the ones who are left, because by then, everyone is gone—the church, the elect and the two witnesses in that order—the last ones are those who are left alive on the Mount of Olives. That is the last of the last to go, for the defence of the Mount of Olives is the central most important key of the return of Christ, the successful return, for if the Mount of Olives is destroyed, scripture is broken. And since the last shall be the first, and as it was at the wedding at Cana, the best was saved till last, so then those who aspire to be on the Mount of Olives must be prepared to be the last to leave, and be prepared to be the best of the elect.

Notice then there is a time sequence, a passage of time, for we know there is a 3½ day wait between the death of the two prophets and their raising, so then, it should not be assumed that the gathering of the elect from the Earth is instantaneous, but may take time, and the ‘rapturing’ of the general church may also take time.

Perhaps, and this is my conjecture, not from the Lord, but me, there will be 3½ years of tribulation (1196 days), and 3½ months of gathering the elect from the Earth (98 days), and 3½ weeks of gathering the elect from the Heavens as per Mark’s order (24½ days), and 3½ days of gathering the two witnesses = 1322 days by a 48 weeks/7 days/12 months calendar and not the 1335 days of Daniel 11:12 because “for the sake of the elect, whom He has chosen, He has shortened them.”[5]

And that is why the 1290 days and the 1335 days of Daniel 12:11-12 do not fit into any 7 year cycle or ½ of a 7 year cycle. So that truly, no one knows the day until the two witnesses are killed, then will we know for certain the day of the Lord’s command, 3½ days, and after that we who are still alive will rise.

As such, there is a maturing as it were and increase in the degree of the joy of the reunion from the removal of the general population of the Kingdom, that is, those who are afraid or are distracted by what they have not yet enjoyed, and those who still have pledges to fulfil to the gathering of the elect of the Earth and of the Heavens to the gathering of the two witnesses and finally to those who are left alive. There is a crescendo of joy increasing… as first the general population arrives in Heaven to be greeted by the Lord, then the elect from Earth and the Heavens are gathered together to arrive with the Lord above Jerusalem, then the arrival of the two witnesses and finally the last group, those who are left alive on the Mount of Olives who have successfully defended the mountain.

Which level of joy you wish to partake of is your choice, but for fullness of strength, it will be best to determine that you would want to be with those who are left alive till the end, and the focus to stand to the end is the surest way to ensure your salvation, for Jesus said, “All men will hate you because of Me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.”[6]

The words “all men will hate you because of Me” are not yet fulfilled, because not all men hate the disciples of Jesus as yet because of the good they are doing. But when the sky has no clouds, the rivers turn to blood, the forests burn and so on, and they suddenly realise that these things are happening because there are disciples of Jesus Christ who are causing such things by their faith to fulfil scripture, then will all men hate the disciples of Christ.

Thus, standing firm to the end does not only apply to believers and Christians who have been killed through the ages for doing what they believe Christ told them to do, like the pastor from Korea who was martyred this week by the Taliban of Afghanistan, but it refers to a specific time when disciples of Jesus Christ will have to stand to the very end… stand on the Mount of Olives to defend it from being destroyed. When this takes place, you will know it was the Lord who foretold this.

Saved from death, saved for the ruling over the nations, for Jesus promised, “To him who overcomes, and does My will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— ‘He will rule them with an iron sceptre; he will dash them to pieces like pottery’— just as I have received authority from My Father.”[7] And what then is the will of Jesus to the end? For nowhere does Jesus ever tell us disciples what His will is, only the Father’s will, and even the apostles in the Epistles wrote of God’s will.[8]

Paul however, wrote: Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.[9]

So, by Revelation 2:26, what does one understand to be the will of the Lord Jesus but none other than His command, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”[10] Understand the Lord’s will, Paul wrote, and be filled with the Spirit, that is, be filled with what the Spirit is telling you, for how else can we be filled with spiritual truths but by listening and hearing. It is not by eating as one eats with the mouth, but to hear, for “the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it.”[11] Since it is the Holy Spirit who will remind us of what Christ said and tell us what He has heard and what is yet to come, then it is the will of Jesus Christ that we listen to the Holy Spirit to the end.

When the false prophet is fully manifested, he will cause those who do not know the voice of the Holy Spirit to listen to him instead, for his voice will sound just like the Holy Spirit’s—except it is a counterfeit. That is why he would deceive the very elect if that were possible. The only way you can be certain of the authenticity of the voice is whether it preaches not just Christ is coming in the flesh, but that Christ can only come back in the flesh and touch His feet on the Mount of Olives.

An evangelist made a mistake this decade when he prophesied Jesus would appear on his stage at a crusade, which is why Jesus said, “So, if anyone tells you, ‘There He is, out in the desert,’ do not go out; or ‘Here He is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.”[12] For the Holy Spirit is interested in ensuring that Jesus not only returns, but that He arrives back at nowhere else except the Mount of Olives first.

The false prophet will preach all sorts of near truths, even claiming that Jesus has returned as he calls fire down from Heaven in the sight of men,[13] fire that will fall upon him or the beast so that he will appear to burn and not die, like the three friends of Daniel. And as he does this, men will witness someone standing next to the beast, someone who looks like Jesus entering into the beast, allowing the beast to proclaim himself as God in God’s temple, that is, the false prophet will go as far as to fake a return of Christ before the real return. He will not however do it on the real Mount of Olives, for that is kept secret until the end, electing instead the Mount of Calvary or the temple mount, he will be able to get away with it because of the general ignorance of the people of the church. So, he will deceive them, then overpower them and defeat them. But those who know their God, especially those who listen to the Holy Spirit to the very end, will resist him to the end until the Lord arrives.[14]

Thus, determine now that you will listen only to the Holy Spirit, and know for certain that Jesus will not arrive back until the last of us who are left alive are caught up from the Mount of Olives. That way, no false Christs who say, “I am He,” with the assistance of the false prophet will deceive you, not even one who is baptised with fire from Heaven in the sight of men, standing on the temple mount.

This is the joy that gives you strength, the joy of knowing the truth, not believing in the truth, the joy of knowing that you can enjoy the privilege of being the very last to leave this Earth just before He arrives. The joy of the last to be reunited with Christ, and you will be with Him forever for you will not miss a day of the Millennium, reigning with Him on the Earth as you prepare for the rebellion of the ingratiates when truly all things will be fulfilled.

If you then consider it a joy and an honour to remain alive, to be the ones who are left alive after the two witnesses are raised from the dead, and you watch them go up to join with Jesus, watching from the Mount of Olives, then the greatest of the joy of reunion is yours already to give you the strength to stand until the end. Strength that will anchor the power of the Holy Spirit and the powers of the age to come, powers that will permit you to enforce the authority given to you by Jesus Christ’s own words.

For then you have overcome fear, distraction and the cares of this world, and you are one and ones who are determined to listen only to the Holy Spirit to the end, in that whatever you plan, whatever you do, the entire hallmark of your word and practice is to ensure that you will be at the Mount of Olives to defend it.

Some will walk there, others will drive there, but you will go as far as preparing to translate there, and you will know the truth that will keep you safe from deception, Jesus Christ does not arrive on Earth until the last of us has stepped off the Mount of Olives.

Rejoice and be glad, for you are offered the cup of His overflowing joy of reunion. Amen.
