Counterfeits

As we are another set of sevens closer to the arrival of Jesus and as His prophecies of the last days turn to news, it is timely to remind ourselves and to test ourselves for counterfeits, as Jesus has said, “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time.” As Jesus has warned us, the messages of those deceivers will include claims of “I am the Christ,” in His Name and “The time is near.”

Now see and understand that as we, who have been elected by the Holy Spirit for the work that He has to fulfil His word to Jesus, are entrusted with more and more power to perform miracles and signs that many will think of the work as false, and since we do proclaim, “He is the Christ,” and that “The time is near,” then in truth an elect can have all the hallmarks of a counterfeit.

Anyone who thinks in this way has at best ignorance and at worst a mind paralysed and blinded by fear.  For any simpleton would know that the true has all the hallmarks of the counterfeit, but it is the counterfeit that does not have all the hallmarks of the true.

So the signs, the wonders, the miracles and the power must be restored and manifested so that the counterfeit can be perfected as well… so perfect that as Jesus has warned, it would “…deceive even the elect—if that were possible.” Rather than cowering in fear of being deceived, we must, we should, we can ensure that it is impossible for the elect to be deceived unless it was God Himself who is sending the delusion.  See even the messages are perfect imitations of the words of Jesus… for did not the Lord Himself say, “I am He.” So little wonder that they (the false Christs and false prophets) too come saying, “I am He.”

Yes, elect, the counterfeits will reach a point of perfection that even the elect can be deceived if it were possible.  That possibility can only occur if you, the elect, allow it to happen, for Jesus has said, “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe.” So that it would take someone stronger to overpower him, as Jesus further said, “But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armour in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils.”

It is not wise to be in fear of the coming of someone stronger, but rather, it is wisdom to strengthen oneself until there is no one stronger, as Jesus said of Satan, “…for the prince of this world is coming.  He has no hold on Me…” And since this same Jesus also said, “…anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even greater things than these…” so likewise we can come to the place where the prince of this world has no hold on us either, and this we can do when we do what Jesus wanted to teach the world, “…that I love the Father and that I do exactly what My Father has commanded Me.”

When we love not God with all our heart, soul, might and mind, but when we love our Father who is in Heaven with all our heart, soul, might and mind as sons and daughters who so love their Father that they seek to give Him rest and glory with their lives, and as Jesus did so we also do exactly what is commanded of us.  When we see the command “Listen to Him,” not as God’s command but as our Father’s command to listen to the Firstborn of the Family and do so exactly… that is when we too come to the place where Satan has no hold on us.

This state of preparation and superiority over the enemy comes to perfection when we obey the command to love our enemies… not by just doing what is commanded, “…do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you,” but to also go the extra mile for them, that is, “Do not resist an evil person.  If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. … If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.” For as Jesus is the Son of God, so we too become sons of God when we love our enemies, for the purpose of that command is “…that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven.” The greater love we can show an enemy is to help them achieve that which they desire as surely as we would wish to achieve that which we desire, and that is to do to them that which we want done to us, as the Lord has said.

The purpose of all counterfeits is not to discredit, for if the original is discredited so too is the counterfeit, but rather, it is to deceive so as to control and profit.  Counterfeit money has no value to the counterfeiters if the real money becomes completely worthless, for if the real is worthless so is the counterfeit.  As such, the counterfeits are not purposed to destroy faith that the time is near, nor to stop believing that Jesus is the Christ, not at all, for then the counterfeit has no value.  Rather, it is only to achieve control and profit over the existing system.  If a currency is so plagued by counterfeits that no one would honour it at all so that a new currency is brought out, then all the counterfeits would be rendered as useless as the real, and the counterfeiters would have to start all over again.  No, the purpose of counterfeiting is to profit from the existing system while maintaining the viability of the current system.

That is why the counterfeiters would say, “I am He,” just like Jesus said, “I am He,” but they would never want it to turn from “The time is near,” to “The time is here.”  So they may prophesy, “The time is near,” or “The time is coming,” but they would never say to the Lord Himself, “Come,” and work so that the Lord may come.  The counterfeiters will preach the gospel in order to perpetuate the need for the preaching of the gospel so that it is never finished in all its preaching to all nations, but rather, preach it in dribs and drabs so that the work is never finished, knowing that as long as the work is never finished the end cannot come, for as the Lord has said, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

Like dishonest workmen who prolong the time it takes to finish a building so that they are paid for a longer period and so, paid more, so the deceivers who use the Name of the Lord preach the gospel in order that it is never finished and to the standard that can fulfil the word of Jesus.  The simplest of these tricks is to have the gospel preached as a message but not as a testimony, for to be a testimony the preacher must be a witness, not a believer, and to be a witness you need the power of the Holy Spirit.  So as long as the church has no power, none of its preaching can satisfy the standard set by Jesus’ own words.  Now infect the church with a fear of counterfeit power so that any and every ‘supernatural’ manifestation is simply thrown out and reinforce it with preachers who have some power but no creditability and you will ensure that the church can preach till eternity ends, but the end as Jesus said will never come.

The best and only way to cast out all fear as the apostle told us is perfect love, for he wrote:  …perfect love drives (casts) out fear… God’s love is perfect, so the love of God drives out all fear, agreed… but how do you make it manifest into the natural realm?  How do you practise ‘perfect love’?  Simple… through the love of enemies, for that is when, as the Lord has said, we would “Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”

So then what is the best way, the most practical way, to show perfect love to our enemy – Satan and his sons?  Firstly, to not resist them and then to go the extra mile – even assist them.

Restore the real and true power of signs, miracles and wonders to the disciples of Christ so that the sons of Satan can produce true counterfeits and then to give them what they wish – control, full control over the Earth and even the entirety of creation by breaking scripture, but as Jesus has said, “…the Scripture cannot be broken…” We achieve this for them, our enemies, when we fulfil the scriptures so that Jesus can return.  And with the arrival of Jesus on clouds of glory over Jerusalem with all His elect and angels, then Satan and his sons will have the opportunity to break scripture once and for all by preventing the Lord’s feet from touching the Mount of Olives through the complete destruction of the Mount of Olives on that day.  We know it cannot happen and we know Satan will fail, but out of love for him, our enemy, we give him the opportunity to fulfil his desires, hopes and dreams as surely as we want our hopes, dreams and desires of seeing Jesus arrive on clouds of glory to meet with Him in the clouds to be with Him forever to be fulfilled.  We do unto him, our enemy, that which we want done unto us, and so the law and the prophets are summed up in this one act.  For the arrival of Jesus, the Son of Man, on clouds of glory will put an end to all deception for 1,000 years until Satan is released once more at the end of the millennium.  And in giving the deceivers their desires, so we destroy their hopes forever.  So be in no fear of the counterfeits, for the real must bear all the hallmarks of the counterfeit, but the counterfeit does not have all the hallmarks of the real.

Only those who choose to ignore the Lord’s warning, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God,” and do not diligently come to know the Scriptures AND the power of God, will find themselves in danger of being deceived… because of the error they are in through their ignorance, ignorance that comes because of wickedness (the forsaking of God) and laziness.  Wickedness that perpetuates error is not sin as one defines sin by the Mosaic Law, but rather, it is a forsaking of God when one refuses to listen to Jesus as commanded, but forsakes His words and ways and runs after the words and ways of those who consider themselves ‘men of God,’ even calling themselves apostles of Christ… masquerading as Paul warned us they would.

And laziness… a laziness that seeks to replace the hard for the easy, for it was not because of easy teachings that the disciples left Jesus, but the desertion of disciples recorded in John 6.66 was when Jesus brought to them the hard teaching of the eating of His flesh and blood.  The later desertion came not because of peace and glory, but because of persecution at Gethsemane.  Peter’s denial of being a Galilean, a disciple and a man who knew Jesus came not because the crowd was praising Jesus, but because the crowd was hostile.  A laziness that seeks the easy and not the hard.  A laziness that seeks to walk up the hill of God rather than climb the mountain of God.  A laziness that believes the lesser of God rather than the greater.  A laziness that seeks the lesser for God rather than the greater.

Such wickedness and laziness will ensure that error is endemic throughout the church, but let it not be so for you.  Forsake the wickedness by showing sincere and pure devotion to His words and His ways, forsaking all others’ words and ways even if they seem to be great men of God.  Fight the laziness by seeking the hard and not the easy.  It is easy to lead a desperate, powerless sinner to Christ, but try leading one who is comfortable and rich.  It is easy to fellowship with those who are well mannered and to love those who are nice, but try loving those who hate you, who are rude towards you and who would seek to take your life if they could.  It is easy to pray for a blind man once or twice and then leave it to God to answer the prayer… but try praying so often and so much that it is by your faith that the blind man sees so that indeed you are doing what Jesus has done.  It is easy to trust God… but try developing a character in you that God can trust.  It is easy to live and die and go to Heaven because of your faith in Christ to await the resurrection… but try living and never dying because of your faith in Christ to await His arrival.  To believe John 11.25 is easy; to believe John 11.26 is worthwhile.

This due diligence to eliminate error begins when you have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches again and again and again and again and again and again.  To listen once is enjoyable and easy, for the message is fresh.  To listen twice is still enjoyable, for you are reminded.  But to sit and listen to the same message again and again and again and again and again and again, that is devotion… and not to find the message boring, that is love.

It is only those who do have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches again and again and again and again and again and again who will be those who have ears to hear what the Spirit says to Jesus with the bride and join in the chorus and say, “Come!”

The counterfeit seeks to control and perpetuate the present imperfection to profit from it.  The real seeks to destroy the present imperfection so that the new and the perfect can appear.

That is how you know what is counterfeit and what is real when both have said and will say, “I am He,” and confirm their words with signs, wonders and miracles.  Selah.
