Having established the Kingdom of God on Earth with His ministry, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to consolidate the kingdom, for the Kingdom of God came upon this world when Jesus drove out demons by the Holy Spirit.  As He said, “But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.”[1]

It is the advent of the Holy Spirit and His continuing presence that allows the presence of the Kingdom of God to remain on Earth and to expand on Earth, and so consolidate its presence.  The real stronghold of the Kingdom of God then is not the church, but rather the presence of the Holy Spirit in power in one and ones who form His holy temple.  A stronghold is a small place or fortress where citizens can run to take shelter.  Within strongholds of old were stores of food, water and weapons with which one could defend oneself, or from which one could launch raids against the enemy.  If Jesus did not ask the Father for the Holy Spirit to be sent to us, then the Kingdom of God that He had established with the driving out of the first demon by Him, and then by the early disciples, would evaporate and be no more.  For if the Kingdom of God’s coming depended on the Holy Spirit, then how much more the establishment and preservation of the Kingdom of God depends on the Holy Spirit?

Is it not significant that after Jesus had given His disciples all that the Father had given Him, even the glory that He received from the Father, that Jesus said, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever— the Spirit of Truth”[2]?  The same Spirit by whom Jesus drove out demons to declare that the Kingdom of God had come.  And He said, “Until now you have not asked for anything in My Name.  Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete (perfect).”[3]  Then He told us, “I am going to send you what My Father has promised, but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”[4]  “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.”[5]

Did we forget when He was teaching us His basic elementary principles about asking, “Ask and it will be given to you,” that He also said, “How much more will your Father in Heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him”[6]?  But in Luke 11:13, He said, “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in Heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

James the Younger was right in this regard in his letter to the twelve tribes, for even in the church it is: You do not have, because you do not ask God.  When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.[7]

The simple truth of the two kingdoms is this:  One needs the Holy Spirit and the other does not.  The Kingdom of Heaven does not need the Holy Spirit because those who are in it are leaving Earth to go to Heaven.  They have no need for the Holy Spirit’s power or presence for them to drive out demons, much less heal the sick, as well as do what Jesus has been doing.  It, the Kingdom of Heaven, is no threat to Satan.  For as long as Jesus does not return, Satan’s days of freedom on this Earth do not end.  And really, whatever made us think that Satan cared who went to hell or not?  Whatever made us think that Satan dragged people to hell?

Did not Jesus say, “I tell you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.  But I will show you whom you should fear:  Fear Him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell.”[8]  It is God who has the power to throw us into hell, not Satan.  As far as Satan is concerned, he does not mind if everyone went to Heaven, as long as Jesus does not come back to Earth.  If you can now see that as being the primary concern of Satan, then you will see and understand that every single one of his deceptions is designed to delay the return of Jesus Christ.

Now Jesus said to the church in Philadelphia, “I am coming soon.  Hold on to what you have…”[9]  That certainly does not sound like Someone who is waiting for us in Heaven, but rather Someone who is expecting us to be waiting for Him here on Earth.

So what the Kingdom of Heaven, the Heavenites, ask for is and must be very different from what the Kingdom of God, the Goddites, ask for.  Although both kingdoms belong to God, the accent as I have said, the focus and the concerns are very different, for our purposes are different as are our prayers.

Satan fears the return of Jesus Christ to Earth.  That is why he will hand over his authority to the false prophet, so that together with the beast, they will fight against Jesus.[10]  This unholy alliance, this true axis of evil, to borrow a term from President Bush, will happen because of the increasing presence of the power of the Kingdom of God on Earth through those of you who have set your heart, soul, might and mind to love the Lord your God and His Son Jesus.  Understand now that what compels Satan to hand over his authority to the beast is because of the increasing power of the Kingdom of God that is overwhelming his demons.  Remember?  “But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.”  “In My Name they will drive out demons.”[11]  As demons are vanquished and driven out, and not only driven out, but harvested by the angels,[12] Satan’s power base will shrink to the point that he will need to make an alliance with another who has power; power that is greater than his and which in some respect is equal to ours, power that the false prophet has.  Remember, the false prophet, the antichrist, comes from within our ranks.[13]

This traitor will have received enough power to do signs, wonders and miracles, breathing life into the image of the beast and calling fire down from Heaven in the sight of men to deceive many.  Those Christians who can be deceived by him are those who do not know the scriptures or the power of God.[14]  Some will even think he is the Elijah who is to come back.  However, his prophesied advent is the guarantee for us who have been chosen for the Kingdom of God, and have elected to remain alive till Jesus arrives, that the power of the Holy Spirit in us will definitely, without a doubt, increase.  For the false prophet cannot receive what he will have unless there have been apostles present to teach him and show him, for the New Covenant is built not on the Law and the Prophets, but rather upon the Apostle and His apostles.

It should now be obvious to those of you who have in mind the things of God that just as the prevention of the return of Jesus Christ is foremost on Satan’s agenda, then the return of Jesus Christ is foremost on the agenda of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  The return of Jesus Christ is the agenda of the Kingdom of God, whereas safe arrival in Heaven is the agenda of those who belong to the Kingdom of Heaven.  Ending the war is Kingdom of God agenda, prolonging the war is Kingdom of Darkness agenda.  And those who care only for the Kingdom of Heaven are like civilians who care nothing for the war, but just that things will go well for them in their lives until they get to Heaven.  Your priorities will expose your citizenship from here on.

So, what is the next step now that the Lord has one and ones like you who have returned to listening to Jesus, who have received the Holy Spirit, and who are now listening to Him, now that the Kingdom of God is once more being preached, even as Jesus Christ is being taught just as Paul left off in Acts 28:31?

The next step is consolidation.  “Hold on to what you have,” because to those who have more is given until they have more than enough.  And anyone who wants more must ask, but from now on we ask not for our daily bread, not for the forgiveness of our sins, not for health or wealth, or clothes or shelter, not even for righteousness with God, for all of these things have been already given to all who seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness.[15]  Those who are seeking first the Kingdom of Heaven are advised to continue to ask for forgiveness of their sins, their bread and water, clothing, health, jobs, houses and so on—for these have not been given already.

However, for those who understand about the Kingdom of God, what you should ask for daily and unceasingly, is more of the Holy Spirit, for it is the Holy Spirit who is the Consolidator and Expander of the Kingdom of God that Jesus has established, and He does this through those who have received Him and who work with Him to confirm that the word of the Lord is true.  It is written:  Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it.[16]  Now, let us go further and work with the Lord to confirm His word with the signs that accompany us as we do that which Jesus has been doing and greater things than what He has done.

We have the Holy Spirit, yes, but now it is time to recognise we need more of the Holy Spirit.  Not more buildings, not more faith, not more power, not more money, no; but more of the Holy Spirit until we have received from the Father the Holy Spirit without limit.  Not the Holy Spirit as a deposit guaranteeing what is yet to come, no, but the Holy Spirit in complete unlimited totality as a manifestation of what was guaranteed.  The Holy Spirit of this age is not a deposit, no, for us He must be the fullness of the promise, not a deposit.  And when two or three of us are in agreement, it is done.  If we remain in Jesus and His word remains in us, we will receive whatever we wish and will.  Ask and we will receive.  Thus, the consolidation of the Kingdom of God begins when the disciples learn to ask aright and not amiss, with the right motive to use what we receive for His good pleasure and glory.  It begins when you and others with you begin to ask God for more of the Holy Spirit, more than you have of Him now, and not just ask, but having asked, earnestly appreciate what you have received.

Too many have been given the Holy Spirit, but they do not appreciate Him.  A sure sign that a person is not appreciated is when their gifts are not appreciated and they are not included in the conversation.  Forget about the juveniles who argue that they too have the Holy Spirit.  Of course they have the Holy Spirit, for He has been poured on all flesh.[17]  But let those who claim they have the Holy Spirit so appreciate Him and His gifts that they are constantly practising them and He is included in their conversation.

Jesus said, “If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him.”[18]  What will happen to the one who is ashamed of the Holy Spirit and His words?  Better still, how will the Lord and the Father feel about those who are not ashamed of the Holy Spirit and His words, who include the Holy Spirit in their conversation, who are not ashamed to speak in the languages of the Holy Spirit, and who so practise not only the words of Jesus, but also use the gifts of the Holy Spirit daily and bear His fruits in season?

How will the Father and Son feel about those who eagerly desire more of the gift of the Holy Spirit, and who prepare themselves so that the Holy Spirit may be given to them without limit?  How do you receive the Holy Spirit without limit?  By being one who speaks the words of God, for John the Baptist said, “For the One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.”[19]

Many will say, “But God didn’t send me.”  Wrong, God sent you, every one of you.  God has sent every one of us to Jesus to listen to Him.  Every disciple of Christ, no, every believer of Christ has been drawn to Jesus.  That is, brought to Jesus to listen to Him.  If God has brought you to Jesus, He has sent you to Jesus because He said, “Listen to Him!”[20]

So it is time to ask, to ask for more of the Holy Spirit, so much more that we have all of Him, and when we have all of Him, we have all of Christ and the Father.  It is time to consolidate the Kingdom of God here on Earth.  It is time, so see what God has in mind to do through one and ones who so love and appreciate the Holy Spirit that they would not have Him taken out of the way as the church understands.  It is time to see what God would do, what Jesus would do, and what His angels would do through a group of people who are not ashamed of the Holy Spirit and His ways and His words.

The time has come… the time of the Kingdom of God on Earth.

Ask and we shall receive.

Agree and it will be done for us.

And to those who have, more will be given…

So, ask and agree with one another for more of the Holy Spirit until we have all of Him.
