“But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are.  I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint,” the Lord said to Ezekiel as He prepared him for his work in the last days of Israel just before Nebuchadnezzar was brought against the remnant of the house of Israel in Judah and Jerusalem.

In the days to come, one question you will hear asked more and more often will be something like this:  “How can God allow this to happen to His church?” or “How can the church let this happen?” as the days of distress increase and wickedness reaches new heights.  The truth of it is this:  Everything that is about to happen is due to this one sin – we did not listen, we did not believe and we did not obey His word, nor did we honour His word enough to hold onto it to the exclusion of all others including the recommendations of James the Younger.

The disasters that have been, are now here and are yet to come were foretold by Jesus.  However, the way we were to overcome these times and the way history would have recorded how these disasters were overcome by the church has never happened because we, the church, thought it unnecessary to hold onto His word, which are our scriptures, and the power He gave us through the Holy Spirit.  In fact, we willingly reduced the Holy Spirit to a ‘Ghost’ and a full stop at the end of our prayers as He was kept out of the development of the church.  Without the power we became the persecuted victims, not the overcomers in times of persecution.  Without the power our jaws broke as we were hit in the face instead of the hands of those who hit us.  Without the power we lost both our shirts and cloaks as people took from us because we could not multiply what was taken to recover what was stolen.  Without power we could not bless our enemies, even by dropping them dead to raise them from the dead a few days later so that they return having experienced a few days of horror in the Abyss and even in Hades.

So like Ezekiel, elect, you are raised up to be sent to a rebellious house, rebellious because it is the choice of the church to not listen to Jesus or to practise His words, but to set up for themselves what they should listen to or practise.  We have always chosen when we would go, where we would go and how we would go in the glorious tradition of the twelve who chose to stay till dark to go to Capernaum instead of going immediately to Bethsaida, and when faced with the Lord, covered up their disobedience with a display of faith and bravado instead of repentance.  Like Ezekiel, “You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and difficult language, but to the house of Israel…” And as the Lord said to Ezekiel, “But the house of Israel is not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to Me…”

The apostles whom Mary found and told the news, “I have seen the Lord!” but they did not believe it was because they had not listened to Jesus, and so likewise they were not willing to listen to Mary.  Thomas was not willing to listen to the others as well because he, like the others, was not willing to listen to Jesus that afternoon after the feeding of the 5,000.  This stubbornness, this refusal, to listen to Him though we search the scriptures thinking that by them we possess eternal life as the Jews of John 5.39 did, but refusing to come to Jesus, to His words, and so to listen to them first is ingrained in all of us, elect, and only unceasing repentance and continuous humble submissive obedience can overcome it.  That is why your foreheads have to be like the hardest stone, like flint or a diamond, for the state of continuous repentance means that in spirit and in flesh we are on our faces before the Lord.

Now hear the attitude of the Lord as He instructed Ezekiel: “You must speak My words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.” “Go now to your countrymen in exile and speak to them.  Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says,’ whether they listen or fail to listen.” And who are our countrymen?  Are they not the citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven and the citizens of the Kingdom of God?  As such, elect, understand to whom you are being sent, not to the unbelievers, but to the believers – to those who profess they believe and hold onto the name of Jesus – and you will find that some will listen and others will not listen.  However, regardless of whether they listen or not, we are to speak the word the Lord has given us so that no one can say that they were not warned.

So then understand, elect, to whom you are being sent and will be sent to and the purpose of your sending.  Like Ezekiel’s ministry, it is not a ministry of restoration through repentance, but rather, a ministry of bearing witness to the rebellion that has occurred in the household for the last 2,000 years, and to be witnesses of how the Lord will deal with the rebellion in love and strict discipline.  Those who will listen will listen, those who have ears to hear will hear and respond, and your message of restoring the command will be like the trumpet call of the Lord.  But to those who do not have ears to hear, your words will be mere entertainment, like one who has been singing a song.  They hear but will not retain the word nor will they persevere with it.

However, elect, you are only like Ezekiel but not an exact duplicate of his ministry, for Ezekiel had no power given him despite the message, the visions and the prophecies… but you do and you will.  Ezekiel was but a man, like one calling in the wilderness as John the Baptist would later be.  Though John prepared the way for the Lord, his ministry was not one that is known for miraculous power.

This time it will be different, different not because it is new, but rather, different because what should have been never took place and so what the Lord is about to do through one and ones who do hear, believe and obey will be new to the rebels, but really, it is what should have been from the beginning.

Even as the power will be restored to those who lay hands so that the sick are healed, and the power is restored to the spoken word so that what is spoken will be, so now, that which Moses never qualified himself to be entrusted with will be revealed, and as Joshua discovered and lived for himself the meaning of these words of God:  “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.  Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

For as the ability to do with your hands and your words the things that Jesus has been doing increases in each of you, then you will come to realise the greatest ability to have that which you meditate on to happen as well.  For a hand can be stopped and deflected, and a word can be silenced, but who can stop a thought?  For indeed, a thought is greater than the wind, for at least with the wind “You hear its sound…” but with a thought, who can hear the thought of a man except He who knows the thoughts of men’s hearts?  It does not take an action or a word for a wish or a will to be formed, but merely a thought.  For even a wish or desire or will begins with a thought, and when you have the power to make that which you think to manifest, then no one will see you move or hear you speak before that which you purpose happens.  And a thought can be disassociated from an action and a word, for an action can be a reflex without thought, and a word is spoken from the overflow of the mouth without the need of a thought from your mind.

So then, elect, see the value of your practice of the word of the Lord until what needs to be done becomes an action that is a reflex without the need of thought, and the value of receiving the word of the Lord into your heart until your heart overflows constantly with His word out of your mouth, again without the need for thought… leaving your mind free to think the thoughts that form into your will and your desires so that that which you do and say completely distracts those who are watching and listening from what you really intend to do and are about to do.  For if you fulfil this promise of the Lord:  “If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you,” then that which you wish as a thought and that which you will as a desire can happen because you have asked the Lord.

What is the power of the renewed mind that Paul would write:  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind? And what is the power of a thought that is taken captive and made obedient to Christ that again this apostle would write:  …and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ?

As the real is brought out again so that proper counterfeits capable of deceiving the elect, if that were possible, can be made by those whose hearts and minds are not set on the welfare of God’s Christ, but rather, that God’s Christ should serve their welfare to fulfil their desires and receive their destiny… so now the power of the outstretched hand and the power of the spoken word will be made available to all and sundry who are in the Kingdom of God so that the rebels are encouraged to seize the opportune moment to bring forth the rebellion and reveal the man of lawlessness.  For if you look at the order as set out in the apostle’s letter, he wrote:  …until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. The rebellion comes first and then the man of lawlessness.  Rebels as you know will not show themselves unless the opportunity for success is given to them.  That is the reason for the ‘revival’ that is coming.  Some who listen will go into glory and those whose hearts and minds are bent on rebellion will be exposed and brought to the truth of what they are to the glory of God’s mercy so that even they would be purged clean of all their evil.

In the midst of all those will be the elect of the Holy Spirit, not just with foreheads like flint, but with minds that are like flint, whose thoughts are so fixed upon obedience to Christ that they are as fixed as words written in flint.  Though the rebels will have a counterfeit to an extent, their inability to abide in the Lord and His word will always ensure that whatever they wish and will will not be done unless it suits our Lord’s will and also our will, that is, those of us who are one with Him.

So there is a little time left, and as you now dispense the power of the outstretched hand and the spoken word to all who come seeking, so now is the time to begin to discover for yourself and bear witness to the power of the mind of Christ as surely as you are witnesses to the power of His outstretched arms and His words.  And in so doing your thoughts will become as one who will likewise answer, “Neither,” to any man of God who enquires of you as Joshua enquired of the man with the drawn sword outside of Jericho.  For soon your thoughts are not like their thoughts, nor will your ways be like their ways.  For who has seen what Jesus had in mind for those who believe Him in the unbelievable and do what He has been doing, even the greater things, to live and never die until He arrives?

So guard your thoughts behind a forehead of flint.  Let your deeds be from the reflex of your practice of His word, and your words be from the overflow of His words stored in your heart, but let God alone know your thoughts.
