When Peter asked Jesus about the disciple whom Jesus loved, “Lord, what about him?” Jesus’ reply to Peter was this: “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?  You must follow Me.” The context in which Peter asked this question of the Lord and the reason he asked the question was because Jesus had just told Peter the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God.  As such, Peter was really asking the Lord about the manner that John would die.  And when you see the motive for Peter’s question, you understand better Jesus’ reply to Peter.

You see, Peter assumed John would die, for after all Jesus had just told Peter the manner by which he would die.  But Jesus immediately reminded him and us that death is not the only way to end our ministries, but rather, if Jesus so wishes, John could have remained alive until Jesus returned.  Why?  And how?  Because with God nothing is impossible and because Jesus has said, “…and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.”

And what is the proof that you believe in Jesus?  When you believe in the One He has sent… and that is, the Holy Spirit.  As such, elect, if the Holy Spirit has set you apart for His work, what is that to anyone else?  They must follow Jesus.  Likewise, what is it to you, elect, if Jesus does not want this or that person to remain alive until He returns?  We must follow the One who has called us and set us apart.

As such, if Jesus told Peter to mind his own business concerning the fate of John, but to focus on following Jesus Himself, so likewise, what is it to us whom Jesus wants to remain alive until He returns, we must follow Jesus, and in your case, the Holy Spirit who has set you apart for His work.

As to who will remain alive and who will not when Jesus returns is determined already by these factors:  the will of God and the faith of those who have been given the choice to hear the Gospel of Life.  As to those who have never heard the Gospel of Life, the choice as to who remains and who is removed is in the hands of the harvesters – the holy angels – first as they go through the world removing the sons of the devil – all “…that causes sin and all who do evil” – and then those who are of the Kingdom of Heaven will be brought into the kingdom of the Father who is in Heaven.  That is, though they are alive, for God is the God of the living and all are alive to God, they will not survive until Jesus arrives… for the implied meaning of the words  “…remain alive…” is that they survive until Jesus returns.  As such, many of the sons of the Kingdom of Heaven will not survive until Jesus arrives… not because God is not willing, but their faith has not allowed them to survive.  Jesus told Peter the manner of his death so that Peter had no choice, for Jesus had already chosen it for him… just as Jesus had chosen it for John.

However, as for those who are alive now, we know for certain not one of the sons of Satan will survive, that is, those who are the sons of those who do not have in mind the things of God but the things of men.  However, those who are not believers because they have never heard the gospel to be able to believe will live and survive if they are meek, for Jesus has said, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the Earth.” They are those who are noble, gentle and humble amongst those who are not believers because the gospel was never testified to them in a manner that they should believe.  Indeed, you know full well that one of Satan’s tactics is to have preachers whose minds are set on the things of men to preach a prostitute version of the good news in such a way that seekers of the truth cannot believe the religious nonsense that is presented.

For those who profess faith in Christ, they have chosen the manner of their death by what they have chosen to believe of the words of Jesus they have available to them.  As such, the more that has been given, the more will be demanded.  Failure by those who pride themselves as believers, disciples and ministers of Christ, and yet have not made every effort to know the scriptures or the power of God, will find that by their faith most will be harvested for Heaven by the angels before Jesus returns.  And if you are harvested by an angel of the Son of Man, you have not been martyred… merely retired, so the first resurrection is not for your participation.  There will be those who are martyred by their choice, by God’s choice or by the choice of the enemies of the gospel who, though they did not survive to the return, will yet arrive with Him at the return.

As such, elect, it is not our concern as to whom amongst the believers, disciples and ministers survives until Jesus arrives, for it has already been decided by God and by themselves.  Our concern is to ensure that all who are destined to remain alive for His return survive until He does arrive… and that includes the elect of the Lord who are to join with those who are gathered from the four ends of the Heavens and the Earth and those who are the meek who have been blessed to inherit the Earth, who are the two thirds of mankind who will survive these days of distress.  They will survive because of the word of God and the power of God entrusted to the elect of the Holy Spirit, He who is the Spirit of Power who recalls to our memories the word of God according to the will of God.

Even though our present work continues to be the restoration of the command of the Father to the disciples of Christ and the revelation of the life and times of Jesus Christ as it is written in the four gospels in the order of time, it is as important for you to begin to see what is ahead.  For unless you are prepared, you will not know or understand who has been elected and every word that is to be kept to keep alive until Jesus arrives.  Indeed, as difficult as it is for you, you must realise that angels – holy angels – will be going through the fields harvesting and it is not our work or concern to hinder them at all nor assist them, for as much as it is their work to bring death to the sons of Satan and then to the sons of the Kingdom of Heaven, so it is our work to bring life to those who are meant to survive until He returns.  For He who elected you is the Spirit of Life, not death.  As such, it is not our place to be concerned about the demise of those who destine themselves to destruction and death because they have chosen to oppose God and His Holy One or have been lazy in believing in His word or His power.

Since all men are sinners, there is no one who is innocent, but there are those who are blameless.

See what is written about Noah, your forefather:  Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. The concept of righteousness – the definition and its very existence – and the walking with God you know and understand.  However, the knowledge of what being ‘blameless’ is now needs to be made clear.  For as an elect of the Holy Spirit you, like all who believe in Christ, are righteous by faith, and in your fellowship with the Holy Spirit you also walk with God.  However, to be blameless as Noah was also blameless is something you must now be clear on.

“That servant who knows his master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows.  From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”

Firstly, see that the blamelessness of Noah is measured against the people of his time.  So then your blamelessness will be measured against the people of your time, not the people of the world, but rather, the people of God of your time – the people you believe with in Christ – and indeed this is how judgment will flow through the house of God.  Each and everyone will be judged by what he knows and what he has been given and what he has been entrusted with.

To those who call themselves the leaders of the church, who live in fine palaces and who cover themselves in purple and scarlet, drinking from golden cups, but yet never uttering these three simple words in their full simplicity and truth to those they are entrusted with – “Listen to Him” – you would not want to share in their reward from the Lord at all.  However, to one who has no education, no literacy, but believes and practises that which he has heard from those who say they are sent by Christ, no blame is accorded.  For indeed, if they believe the one who claims to have been sent by the Christ, they have already done the work of God.  Even if the work was done in error, they would still receive the reward of the one who had done the work.  How?  Why?

Because the work of God is to believe in the one He has sent and because Christ warned us of those who say, “I am the Christ,” and those who would come in His Name, saying, “I am He,” to not believe them.  So those who come claiming to be Christ Himself we should not believe.  If we do, we have not done the work God requires, but rather, if those who are deceivers claim to be servants of Christ, then in the grace of God those who have been deceived into believing them have in a way done the work God requires, for God’s work is “…to believe in the one He has sent.”

Had Satan said to Eve, “God sent me to tell you that you would surely not die if you ate of the fruit,” and Eve ate, believing that God did sent Satan, then Eve in eating of the fruit had done the work of God… and what was that work?  It would have allowed God to expose Satan for the liar that he is there and then, for God never sent him.

But you see, Satan did not open his conversation with a lie, but rather, a question that tested how well Eve had listened to God, saying, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Eve failed the test by adding to what God had said, and when she did, Eve became a liar, for Eve said, “…but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ “ In adding, ” ‘…and you must not touch it, or you will die,’ ” which is something God did not say, Eve in truth lied to Satan.

(Ok, time for a breather.)

In adding to her answer something God did not say, Eve lied to Satan, for Satan’s question was, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The answer is “No, God did not say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden,’ but God did say, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil…’

You see, elect, there were two trees in the middle of the garden, not one.  In the middle of the garden were the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve said that God said, “You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden…” but Satan said, “You will not surely die.  For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Now see the cunning and the trickery of the deceiver.  Because Eve was not accurate in her quoting of the word of the Lord AND the description of the middle of the garden, saying there was one tree when there were in fact two trees, it allowed Satan to speak to Eve as if he was speaking of the Tree of Life whilst Eve was looking at and thinking of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  You see, if Eve ate of the fruit of the Tree of Life – the tree that was in the middle of the garden – she would not surely die… and God knows that the moment we do eat of the fruit of the Tree of Life we will be like God, with eyes opened to see as God sees life, and since God knows all things, so we would know good and evil without having to eat of its fruit!

Which is why, to keep things simple, elect, what is it to us whom the Lord wants to keep alive until He returns and whom He has chosen to die in the way He chose to let Peter die?  To find that out we must follow Him!  Now how does one follow the One you are to greet?

Simple, follow Him when He was here, follow Him in His life and times, and journey where He had journeyed so that when you come to the place from where He rose to go to Heaven, there you will see Him return in the same way as you lift up your head.  And who can lead us in the way and times of Christ?  The one and only, the Holy Spirit… and as you follow Him, believing and obeying what He has said, you are doing the work of God.  For the work of God is to believe in the One He has sent.

As such, your blamelessness will be measured against the extent that the people of your time listen to the Holy Spirit.  No, not listen to spirits, but rather, listen to the One whose very actions and work were clearly defined by Jesus so that there is no mistaking what is said.  You know the Holy Spirit’s work and so whatever the Holy Spirit tells you to do is in line with His work, and in believing Him you are blameless because you are doing God’s work.

As such, the concern of an elect is not the concern of Peter – “Lord, what about him?” or them – but the command of the Lord and to do the work God requires… to believe in both Jesus and the Holy Spirit whom God has sent and to be an honest witness of His word.
