“You are a King, then!” said Pilate.  Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a King.  In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.  Everyone on the side of truth listens to Me.”

As such, anyone who obeys the Father’s command and listens to Jesus is on the side of the truth and can testify to the truth.  Jesus Himself has testified that for this reason He was born, born to be a King, a King who came into the world to testify to the truth… the truth of who God is and what God feels about this world and all that is in it that was made by Him.  For Jesus said to Nicodemus, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” And anyone who listens to Jesus is on the side of this truth, that God loves this world and has sent Jesus to save this world from sin and the wages of sin, which is why John the Baptist said of Jesus, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” The testimony of the Lord was not to be the testimony of an ordinary man, but that of a King, born to be King to testify to the truth.  What does that mean?

What does it mean to hear the testimony of a King and then having heard, decide or choose to believe or not believe the King’s testimony?  It means this, it means choosing between war or peace, for whenever a king stands up to testify, those who are his subjects and allies will believe him and those who are not will not believe Him… and whenever you do not believe the testimony of a king, it is either treason if you are his subject or war if you belong to another kingdom.

As such, when John said by calling Jesus, “…the Lamb of God…” John saw Jesus as God’s peace offering (sin offering) to the world for the world… and anyone who believes in Him comes into the Covenant for the Forgiveness of Sins from God and receives the peace of Jesus from Jesus as He said to His disciples, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.” However, when He answered Pilate, “You are right in saying I am a King,” Jesus was not being the Lamb of God, the peace offering, but rather, He had thrown down the gauntlet to Pilate.  Since Pilate had said, “You are a King, then!” and Jesus had replied, “You are right in saying I am a King,” what Pilate would then do would decide between a peace treaty or a declaration of war.

For as only a governor of an empire and you have a king of another country standing before you, you have no authority to judge him in any way… either you have to free him or accord him the honour due a king and have him ushered into the presence of your king.  After all, the Romans were not at war with the kingdom of Jesus Christ at that moment in time.  The proper protocol for Pilate was to have Jesus conducted to Caesar for Caesar to decide whether to free Jesus and so enter into a peace treaty with the kingdom of Christ, or to disbelieve His testimony and so declare war against the kingdom of Christ.

The action of Pilate in handing Jesus to the Jews of Israel… a nation in rebellion against their King, God Almighty who delivered them out of Egypt… was an act of war.  For as Jesus Himself had said to the Canaanite woman, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel,” Jesus’ other role… besides being the Lamb of God… was that He was the King sent by the King, His Father, to a rebellious nation to bring them back to the Empire of God… which at the time when Jesus began to preach, consisted of the Kingdoms of Heaven and of God as well as the rebellious kingdom of Israel.  Israel alone was the nation of the world set aside by God to be His own.  All the other nations, Egypt, Babylon, Greece, Persia and Roman, were kingdoms of the world, which belonged to Satan… as Satan said to Jesus, “All this I will give You, if You will bow down and worship me,” as he showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

That is why John the Baptist came preaching, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near,” to the Jews and Jesus took that up and continued the message as well… “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” However, Jesus was not just born a King to represent the Kingdom of Heaven, for with Him came another King… the King who would come into this world to represent the other kingdom of the Empire of God, the Kingdom of God.  Since Jesus was baptised in the waters of the Jordan and all righteousness was fulfilled, the other King, the Holy Spirit, descended upon Him in the form of a dove and a voice from Heaven said, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.”

Through the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of God would come… the kingdom of power, joy, peace and righteousness… a kingdom that needs no eating, drinking or talking.  A kingdom that would come with one purpose, to drive out demons first so that those sons of the devil could be harvested from the world by the soldiers of Heaven, the angels of God… as Jesus said, “…if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you,” and later said, “The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil,” beginning with “…the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil.  The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.”

So Jesus did not preach repentance only to Israel… warning them of the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven, but He also preached repentance warning them of the coming Kingdom of God… saying, “The time has come.  The Kingdom of God is near.  Repent and believe the good news!”

Two kingdoms were coming… the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God.  One that would unleash angels to remove the sons of the devil and bring the sons of the kingdom (of Heaven), sons who had been sown by God into the world (the field). And another was also coming, one that announced its arrival with its emissary King, the Spirit of God, with the driving out of demons by the finger of God.  A kingdom different from that of the Kingdom of Heaven because the sons of this latter kingdom (the Kingdom of God) are not sown into the world as the first were… but rather, they were brought into the kingdom after they had been born to then be born again!

As surely as Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God… so there was another son of God that God’s hands had made and God’s Brother had given life to – Adam, the son of God. Through Adam, the son of God from the dust of the Earth, would come all the sons of Adam who, had Adam not sinned, would also have been sons of God.  Sons born of the flesh only to die because of sin.  However, through the Holy Spirit would come those who would be born again of the Spirit.  A race of people who are first born of the flesh and then born of water and the Spirit… who can enter and see the Kingdom of God.

Truly a new creation, a new creation would come out of Adam, son of God, and his descendants through the work of the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ.  All who believe in Him and are baptised by Him would be born again by water and the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God to be the citizens of the Kingdom of God.  Citizens who all have the right to be children of God and not just a right of citizenship then, but the right of sonship… if they acknowledge the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Sonship, as the Father of their spirits.

As Jesus said, “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. Adam, son of God of the flesh, through sin now slave unto sin and Satan’s kingdom, gave birth to sons of flesh.  Jesus, Son of God, through faith would redeem the sons of Adam, and give those who believe the second birth to be born again in the spirit by the Spirit to be sons of God in the Empire of God of the Kingdom of God.

These sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, would have the Kingdom of God within them.  They were not going to their kingdom as the sons of the Kingdom of Heaven would, but rather, they would be born, appear as it were by the second birth, with the Kingdom of God already within them, and it would be up to them to unleash that kingdom within for the kingdoms of the world to see.

This new creation, these new creatures, these new sons, were not spirits as the sons of God of old were, those angels… spirit beings that could take the form of flesh but were spirits to begin with.  Neither could they be like the sons of God, Adam and his children, formed first in flesh to receive spirits to live and when they die to cast aside the flesh and continue to live as spirits.  If Adam did not sin, then he and his children would never be devoid of their flesh, but would have been able to live and not die in their flesh forever.  But Adam’s sin and Satan’s rebellion afforded a new creation, a new type of son of God – one who, born of flesh, would then be born again of the Spirit so that he would be a son of God whose flesh was Adam’s, but whose spirit was the Holy Spirit’s as far as parentage was concerned.  A creature, a son of God, who even in flesh is capable of living and never dying if only he believes in the Son of God who brought us forth by His ministry and sacrifice when He told one of our mothers, Martha, “…and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.”

A new kingdom, not just the Kingdom of Heaven that had suffered violence because of the trading of Satan and war, just as the Kingdom of Earth suffered violence from Cain and then wars, but a new kingdom unknown to those who had warred in the Heavens and on the Earth, and through this new kingdom, sons of God would also come… as it did in the Kingdom of Heaven and should have through the Kingdom of Earth.  A race of sons of God brought forth by Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to have power on Earth to bring forth the peace, joy and righteousness of the Kingdom of God.  A peace, joy and righteousness that would then emanate through all the other kingdoms until every enemy of God was vanquished and Christ alone is the Ruler over all.  After which, as Paul stated:  Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. The end that will come when this Earth is also destroyed when all Kingdoms of Heaven and of Earth are made one and only one kingdom exists, the Kingdom of God, because its kings and lords are left alive to judge those who are brought back to life at the second resurrection.

Now as one and ones who would have gone to Galilee if they could and saw the Kingdom of God and the glory of God with their own eyes and heard with their own ears for 40 days, see what Paul wrote:  For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn:  Christ, the firstfruits; then, when He comes, those who belong to Him. The firstfruits who are made alive after Christ are not those who have died to live again, but rather, are the firstfruits of the Kingdom of God… those who, having been born again by the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God, live and never die because they believe what Jesus said to Martha in John 11.26.  The firstfruits of the Kingdom of God have not yet appeared, for all who belonged to Christ to date have died to await His return to be made alive again, some at the start of His millennium, others at the end of the millennium.

Why?  Because no one went to Galilee when God put the Kingdom of God, all that it is and will be, on display for the brothers of Jesus to see.  No one responded to Jesus’ invitation on resurrection morning and so no one took up the place of being His brother… real brother as another son of God, born not of natural descent nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God, the Holy Spirit.

Since in all things royal, it is only to the brothers of a king that kingdoms may be imparted so that they too may be kings within their own rights, no one, no one of the new kingdom took up the right of inheritance as a coheir with the King, for all remained friends, servants and citizens only.  Which is why one of those who would have been king also had he gone to Galilee that morning could only offer phileo love when the King asked for the love of the King who sent Him – agape.

God is Agape and the Kingdom of God is the Kingdom of Agape and its rulers must live and love with agape… the sons of the Kingdom of Agape and its sons of Agape, the sons of God who live, are as active and sacrificial as their Father and their Brother… whose spirits are born again of the Spirit of Agape.  Sons who, like the One whose sacrifice brought them forth, are born just like Him to be kings… kings who are born to testify to the truth.  Lords and kings who, had they gone on resurrection morning, know their kingdom and can testify about their kingdom, would be what the eleven had become if they obeyed and went.

Now once more there is another King who is ready to stand up and testify concerning the truth, One whose Name is called the Spirit of Truth, and as He promised long ago through His prophet Zephaniah, “Therefore wait for Me, for the day I will stand up to testify.  I have decided to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms and to pour out My wrath on them—all My fierce anger.  The whole world will be consumed by the fire of My jealous anger.”

But those to whom the command to wait did not wait when they were told by Jesus, “I am going to send you what My Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” No, they did not wait even after He appeared a second time, for some went fishing instead.

So the Lord waited, waited until the time had come when once more there are one and ones who would sit and listen to the One born a King to testify to the truth as Mary, sister of Martha, did.  Waited until He did have those who are on the side of truth because they obey the Father and listen to Jesus.  Listened enough to have gone to Bethsaida immediately so that the harvest could have begun immediately.  Listened enough to have gone to Galilee so that this world would bear witness to what Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.” Listened enough to have stayed and waited so that the Holy Spirit could have stood up and testified through them, beginning in Judea and to the ends of the Earth, with the power of His jealous anger to so consume the Earth as to purify it once more and restore it to when there was no sin, for Jesus had removed the sin of the world.

Now if there are one and ones who would afford this opportunity to the Holy Spirit through whom the Kingdom of God has come, He will surely immediately begin the harvest of the Kingdom of Heaven and reveal to the whole Earth what a blessing the peacemakers of the Kingdom of God are as the kings of the Earth and their nations are assembled to feel the fire of His jealous anger.

Born again by water and the Spirit to be a king in the Kingdom of God to testify to the truth.  All who listen and believe have accepted the peace offering and will not perish.  All who refuse to believe the testimony of that king have declared war against the Kingdom of God.  And since it is those who have not believed the testimony of the king who have declared war, then it is the prerogative of the king to wage the war or make the peace.

Make the peace we shall with the power of the Kingdom of God so that the kingdoms of this world will cast aside their splendour and riches for the peace, joy and righteousness of the Kingdom of God.

So then, you who listen to Jesus, who are born again of water and the Spirit, who would have gone to Galilee on resurrection morning if you could, when it is your turn to be asked by a governor or even a king of the kingdoms of the Earth, let your answer be like Jesus’ answer, saying, “You are right in saying I am a king.  In fact, for this reason I was born again, and for this reason I was saved, to testify to the truth.  Everyone on the side of truth listens to me, and whoever receives me, receives the One who sent me.”

If they listen and believe, give them peace.  If they refuse to listen and believe, then make the peace for them so that all may know why… “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”
