The brilliance of God Almighty lays not in His words or deeds, but in His thoughts, His fore-thoughts, His imagination, His planning and the careful consideration He has given to every single minute detail of a creation so vast and so complex that not all the combined intellectual and mental as well as computer capacity of this twenty-first Century can hope to match.

So then, for anyone who is coming to know God and not just believe in Him, there comes a time and place when it dawns on our puny little minds the magnitude of the intelligence we are created by, and of whose Image we are in.  It is the realisation of this that will and must cause all knees to bow and every tongue to confess[1] as all are raised on the last day by His power and grace to face judgement.  For those who have been elected by the Holy Spirit for the work He has for them, the greatest privilege and the greatest pleasure that you will experience are not the miracles nor the powers to be a superhuman, and not the glory or fame, but the time when He lets you into what He is thinking about the Father and the Son.  A place that truly is the third Heavens, where you would consider it unlawful and blasphemy to divulge what you have seen and heard, except to your fellow elects maybe.

A sample of the calculating perfect brilliance of God’s thoughts and plans is exemplified in what He is revealing now about His plans for Satan, the false prophet and the beast, and their inevitable fate and destruction.  God’s plans are so ingenious that even if He told them to Satan, there is nothing Satan can do to avert them, for in the plans of God, every move and counter move of Satan’s is already known, and the very reactions of Satan are what lead him without hope of pardon to his destruction.

When a Christian man who does not know the words, power, actions and thoughts of God reads:  The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.  Men worshipped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshipped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast?  Who can make a war against him?” He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them.[2]  It would be understandable that such a person would be apprehensive, even fearful and invent fanciful theories as to how the church would be saved and delivered by the ‘Rapture’ as they call it.  What they do not know is that God never runs or retreats from a fight, and taking the church out of harm’s way is not His style, but keeping the church there in harm’s way so that the church may be blessed is.  For those who fall will be blessed with martyrdom to return, and those who have the power not to fall will live to see Jesus arrive and join Him without tasting death, as He has said.

So certain and unchangeable are God’s plans of victory that He even gives Satan the very instrument by which Satan can break God’s word once and for all, and so defeat God.  In Revelation 20:7, it is written:  When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the Earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle.  They will be defeated as it is written:  the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the Lake of Burning Sulphur.[3]  As I have said before, all Satan has to do is wait for his release and not go out to deceive the nations, that’s all, and the word of God, the plans of God for the future, which comes after the Millennium, would be stopped.  Jesus would be stuck on Earth with all His saints, and New Jerusalem will not be able to come out of the new Heavens to be the bride, and God would no longer be God because His word has been proved false!

But you see, God who knows all things, knows that this will not and cannot happen because of the nature of Satan.  That is why when you come to know the thoughts of God and see the magnificence of His glory that lays in His thoughts and plans, which determines His every word and the application of His immense power, you will lose all fear.  When you lose all fear you have perfected love, for perfect love casts out all fears.  When you have perfected love in you, you have perfected the image of God in you who is Love.  Thus, the perfect imitator of God is he who has perfect love as God is Love and God is Perfect.

Jesus said to the twelve, Therefore be as shrewd (wise[4]; wary[5]) as snakes…”[6]  The cunning, that is, the shrewdness, wisdom and wariness, of a person ingenerates in his thoughts and thinking, which govern his speech and deliver his actions.  So then, in order to be shrewd, wise and wary, we must be able to control and master our thoughts, not just our words and actions.  And when taken in the context of a war, our actions and words must reveal the pattern of thinking we want our enemies to think so as to give them a powerful delusion, whilst not hiding what we are really thinking from those who are our friends, so that we are deceiving no one.  And that is what Jesus meant when He said, “…and as innocent (harmless[7]; guileless, and without falsity[8]) as doves.”[9]  The harmlessness, innocence, guilelessness and the absence of falsity comes when our actions and words reveal the truth of our thoughts to those who are for us, but provide a powerful delusion to those who are against us so that they would believe the lies supplied by themselves.  Since Satan is the father of all lies and all men will be proved liars,[10] then the words and actions of God are such that they reveal a pattern of thought to those who lie and deny the truth that indeed the lie they speak is what they believe in.

John wrote:  If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us,[11] and if we claim that we do not need Jesus to atone for our sins, we make God out to be a liar.  For God had testified to John the Baptist that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, as John testified, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”  And he gave this testimony:  “I saw the Spirit come down from Heaven as a dove and remain on Him.  I would not have known Him, except that the One who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The Man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is He who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’  I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God.”[12]

Anyone who disbelieves John the Baptist’s testimony has disbelieved the one who preached, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near,”[13] and so has claimed by their unbelief that they are without sin and have deceived themselves and the truth is not in them.

To such persons then, God’s words through Jesus Christ will always sound like foolish nonsense, and the only actions that they will be permitted to see are actions that prove to them that there is no power in the words of Jesus.  What they will see and not perceive and what they will hear and not understand will reinforce to them their thoughts that God does not exist and that God did not send Jesus, which is what they believed in the first place.  You see, God does not lie, nor does God deceive, but the cunning of God is such that His words and actions (power) will always reinforce what a person chooses to believe in.  That is why Paul wrote for us these dreadful words, words that should fill any person full of dread about God:  For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.[14]

The words and actions of Jesus as He continually inflamed and agitated the Pharisees and Sadducees until they plotted to kill Him because of His miracles, which they couldn’t do, and because of the authority of His teaching, which they didn’t have, provides for us a glimpse into what Jesus meant when He commanded us to be as “wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”[15]

So seamlessly perfect were the plans of God about Jesus that even Satan was fooled into throwing his lot in with Judas when Judas plotted betrayal, that Satan entered Judas.  Even Satan, for all his cunning and perfection in wisdom and knowledge, could not see past the delusion that Jesus was portraying before him, making it irresistible for Satan to walk into the trap again, and this time taking his ally, Death, with him.  Jesus rubbed salt into Satan’s wound when He said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven,”[16] after He pronounced him a liar and a murderer in John 8:44, and to add insult to injury, Jesus then said, “The prince of this world is coming.  He has no hold on Me.”[17]

You see, Jesus turned down his entreaties in the desert, raised up the truth about Satan in John 8, had him thrown out of Heaven and then told everyone Satan has no hold on Him, so that Satan’s pride and rage would be so fanned into flames that really, he couldn’t help himself but do exactly what God had in mind, assist Judas in his betrayal of Jesus and unleash his arch ally against Jesus on the cross, Death himself.

But to the one who was listening intently, who was watching attentively, the words and actions of Jesus were revealing a truth to her that made her run ahead of everyone else as soon as the earthquake struck, and made her linger just a little longer at the tomb, even when the two chosen ones, Peter and John, had gone home.  You see, to those who truly want to know Him that they may love Him better, the words and actions of Jesus will cause them to enquire, “What is God thinking when He said this and did that?”  It wells up within them like the wellspring of life, life eternal, causing them to move forward into coming to know Him, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent even more.

So then, your privilege and pleasure of being revealed the thoughts of God that you may learn to think as He thinks is so that you may truly fulfil these words of Jesus to be as wise, shrewd and wary as a serpent and as harmless, innocent and guileless as a dove.

When you can learn to think as God thinks so that your words and actions are governed and determined by such thoughts, then your very words and actions will be powerful delusions to the enemies of God so that they will believe the lie they cherish, and to the friends of God, they will be even more powerful confirmations of the T/truth they have chosen.

And the more you discipline yourself to learn of Him and now even His way of thinking, the more like Him you become, until you are so cunning, that is, wise, shrewd and wary, that even Satan’s cunning is no match for you.  As such, it is possible to be more cunning than the serpent, for God is more cunning than the serpent, and you are made in God’s Image to be like God, an imitator of God in words, actions and thoughts.

That is why you need not fear what others fear or call a conspiracy what others call a conspiracy, for they are ones who do not know what God is thinking even if they are able to see what He is doing and hear what He is saying.  For you who will come to be shown the way God thinks will learn to see, as an example, that the power given to the beast to make war against the saints and to conquer them will result in a wave of repentance from saints who have been complacent, lazy and foolish so that they “may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end.”[18]  And the death of many of those saints will result in a flood of martyrs who will quickly make up the numbers that their predecessors under the altar had been told to wait for.  Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.[19]  So that untold numbers of otherwise ‘ordinary’ Christians who would have died of old age or disease or accidents will have the opportunity to be beheaded for the sake of the word of God and their testimony,[20] so that they may also gain a better resurrection.[21]

And those who would not face martyrdom would at least have been refined, purified and made spotless by repentance and still have a better hope and future than they could otherwise have had if the false prophet’s power was not available to back up the authority Satan had given him.  You see, in this situation, Satan gives up his authority and ends up with no power; the beast receives the authority and power from Satan,[22] but it is the false prophet who will use his power to perform the miraculous signs on his behalf.[23]  So Satan ends up with nothing, no authority because he gave it away and no power because the false prophet, whose intention is to displace Satan anyway, retained his power to do the miracles on behalf of the first beast.  The beast has authority and power, so when he and the false prophet mount the coup-de-tat on Satan, Satan is left without anything to defend himself.  He who has been betraying is betrayed the moment he trusts the beast.[24]  You may say that Satan still has demonic power, yes, but you forget that the false prophet has been raised up and equipped by us, yes, us, with even powers of the age to come so that none of Satan’s powers can match his.  And the irony of it all is that it will be our job to keep both the beast and the false prophet alive until Jesus arrives, so that they can be captured and thrown alive into the Lake of Burning Sulphur in fulfilment of what John saw and wrote in the Revelation.[25]  You see, no puppet master has ever feared his puppets.  Likewise, if it is our job to keep those two alive till Jesus arrives, how much greater then the power and authority we have than they?

This is merely a simple overview of the thoughts of God concerning that which is unveiling before us, how much more intriguing and incredible the intricate details of the fabric of this tapestry and movements of this opera as He makes it known to His elect whom He has chosen and set aside for the work He has for them?

What a privilege to be shown not only what to do or say, but what your Teacher is thinking.  As I have said two years ago, you are not being trained to be sons, but educated to be His sons, and knowing His thoughts is part of your tertiary education in the workshop of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Sonship, as surely as knowing His words are elementary and His powers secondary.

As Jesus said to the twelve, “A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.  It is enough for the student to be like his teacher and the servant like his master.”[26]  So aspire to be like your Teacher and your Master, and the proof of that is when they accuse you of being more like Beelzebub than they did Jesus, for Jesus said, “If the Head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of His household!”[27]  So let us give them who call Jesus, “Beelzebub” reason to call us more than they did Jesus, when we make known to them the thoughts of the Holy Spirit concerning the Father and the Son.  Amen
