Whenever God was speaking to His many prophets about Israel and the nations around Israel, prophets like Isaiah, Amos, Obadiah, Micah, Zephaniah, Haggai and Zechariah, the Lord often used this term for them, “In that day…” meaning that the Lord was showing His prophets the exact day that such and such would take place.  If the Lord would tell the Old Testament prophets the exact day whereby He would do things, then surely the Holy Spirit who has been sent by Jesus to tell us what He has heard and what is yet to come would certainly not do any less.  If you have ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying, then the Lord will not come to you like a thief in the night, church, for He will tell you the days of the birth pangs and distress that are coming, so that by them you will know the approach of the season of the Lord’s arrival.  And like any midwife knows, the closer the contractions occur together, the closer the time of delivery.  He would tell you the exact day even, church, if you can be trusted not to tell it to anyone else, so that the Holy Spirit may be His witness, that He is the Lord who does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants, the prophets.

If that is what He will do for His servants, then how much more would He now do for His sons and daughters and His friends.  The Lord may have told prophets like Isaiah and Amos what He would do, but He did not give them the power and the ability to participate in what He would do, no, those prophets merely were shown what would happen and on what day that they might warn the people to repent or to prepare.  However, when the Lord said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even greater things than these…” and sent the Holy Sprit to tell us what is yet to come, as well as give us power to be His witnesses, He intended that everyone who has faith in Him, that is, in Christ Jesus the Son, would not only know about what was to come, but would participate in what was to come.

To the prophets of the Old Covenant, He told them again and again, using these words, “In that day,” or “On that day,” such and such would happen, but none of them participated in what they were told would happen.  As a clear contrast to what the New Covenant is all about, see what the two prophets of Revelation 11 can do:  These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the Earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.  These prophets of the New Testament, these omegan prophets, are able to participate in the actual events of the days of distress, no, not participate,  they are responsible for the days of distress, withholding the rain, ruining the waters and increasing the plagues, so that indeed the world will experience days of distress unequalled since the foundation of the world.

Compare them with the early prophets of the church like Agabus, who could merely deliver the message to the church in Acts 11:28, and Paul’s fate in Acts 21:10-11, just like the prophets of old.  Agabus did not shut up the sky as Elijah did, and certainly not as the two of Revelation will.  The difference between the prophet of Acts 11 and the two prophets in Revelation 11 is to show you the effect of TIME on the maturation of the ministry of the prophets, so that through the work of the Holy Spirit, these messengers went from being men with a message to men with the power to confirm the message.  If that is the case for the prophets, then imagine what the case is for those who are apostles, for the apostles from the beginning were already able to do many of the things that Jesus had been doing – healing the sick, driving out demons and raising the dead.  Now with the passage of TIME and maturation of this ministry, the apostolic, you can be certain that the apostles of the end times can do much more than the prophets of the end times.  If the messengers had matured to be doers of the word as well, then imagine what the doers of the word have matured to, will mature to, can mature to… should mature to.  For the striking of cities with plagues is not new – God did that many times in the Old Testament.  The changing of waters to blood is not new – Moses, or rather Aaron, did that.  Shutting up the skies in not new – Elijah did that.  As such, the prophets of Revelation 11 have been matured to the level of what was already in the Old Testament only, and not what is in the new.  The one thing they will do that is God-like is their ability to strike the cities with plagues as often as they wish, which should tell you that these are men in whom the words of Jesus abides and who abide in Jesus in ‘keeping’ with John 15:7.  They are New Covenant prophets, blood drinkers and flesh eaters, both of them, and as such, they are not and cannot be Moses or Elijah… not even Enoch.

If the passage of time has matured the ministry of the prophet to exceed that of the messenger group like Isaiah and the power group like Moses and Elijah beyond anything they have seen and known, what then are the omegan apostles capable of, and what should they be capable of?  The comparison one can draw between Agabus and the two of Revelation 11 gives one an idea of the increase in capability of such men.

So, do not worry about tomorrow, do not worry what it will be like when the days of distress are fully upon us.  Do not worry about the three and a half days when these two men lay dead on the streets of Jerusalem and are refused burial whilst the whole world rejoices.  Do not worry, for even the beast that comes out of the Abyss is only able to kill these two prophets.  If the foundation of the church is laid on the apostles and the prophets, then you can be assured the Capstone will also be laid on the preparation by apostles and prophets.  And if there are two prophets of such power by Revelation 11, then know for certain there will be by then many more apostles of even greater power.  If the Lord started the church with eleven apostles and then expanded that ministry to more than 500, then know and understand that there will be an abundance of men and especially women in the apostolic ministry who will prepare for His arrival.  Men and women who, like Paul, Peter and John, all have a gospel they have received from the Lord directly and not from men, who have seen the Lord, and their ministry of signs, wonders and miracles is characterised by patient endurance and a humility to come last in the procession like men condemned to the arena.  If Peter could raise a cripple and a dead woman, if Paul could raise the dead and translate in the spirit to visit his churches, then imagine what is most assuredly prepared for those whom the Father has set aside for Jesus to be His omegan apostles.  If that is the case for the apostles of Jesus, then what has the Holy Spirit planned and set aside for His elect who were first raised in Acts 13:2 to keep the apostles of Christ like Peter and Barnabas from becoming hypocrites and being led astray?

Thus, the passage of time, even the delay of our Lord’s return is not and has not been in vain, for God has used time to grow, mature and ripen the ministries.  Just as one cannot tell what a mandarin will look like or taste like from its seed, so the apostolic ministry of the church that was buried and lost will now bear fruit, and what it will be like not even Peter could imagine.  Paul was shown it in the third Heavens perhaps, but it was not lawful to speak of, and John may have heard it from the seven Thunders, but he could not write it down.  However, you, if you have the faith and endurance for it, will live it and testify to it.  Such is the great blessing to be in this time now.

So then, the Lord has proved Himself true again when He said to us, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.”  If the devil and his people think that those two prophets of Revelation 11 are something to worry about, they now know they have much more to worry about.  So let those who fear the arrival of Jesus worry about tomorrow, for today those who are preparing for His arrival are too busy to worry, and why should those who are preparing for His arrival need to worry?  For with His arrival, those who have spent today preparing to greet Him on His arrival will be with Him forever, and those who spend their days opposing Him will be like the grass of the fields, here today, gone tomorrow, and their place will not remember them.  Since their sins are forgiven them, and all they have done is sin in opposing the Lord, then there will be nothing of them to remember.  Such is the fate of all who oppose the preparations for the arrival of Jesus.

Even the false prophet, for all his powers to do signs and wonders to deceive the elect if that were possible, is a mere prophet.  He is not an apostle.  If the magicians of Egypt could stupidly mimic the first three miracles of Aaron and Moses, then it is no wonder the false prophet can mimic our miracles of blessings.  He would have to do the miracles of blessing first to gain and acquire his popularity, and he will also be able to do a miracle of wrath in calling down fire in the sight of men like Elijah did.  Now see that his counterparts, the two prophets of Revelation 11, have fire coming out of their mouths.  No elect of the Holy Spirit can be deceived by him because they will all have been taught by the Lord.

So if there are false prophets, there must be false apostles as well, and indeed there are and will be, but not one of them will be permitted to survive to give Satan their allegiance.  Firstly, the false apostles, as Paul warned us, are not apostles of Christ who betray Him like Judas, but these false apostles are apostles of Satan.  Meaning, they do not have a gospel from Christ, they have not seen Christ, and certainly their greatest weakness is that they do not have the patient endurance required or the humility to come last in the procession, no matter how great their miracles, signs and wonders are.  That is, they do not have time on their side, and because of their lack of patient endurance, they do not permit time to be on their side.  Impatient and arrogant like their master, they will all fall victim of time, the one thing they can never master.  Whatever they say and do can be and will be reversed in the twinkling of an eye.  And because, unlike the false prophet who came from out of our ranks, these false apostles do not have anywhere near the power of the false prophet, that is why it is the beast and the false prophet who will face Jesus at His arrival.

The only reason the elect of the Lord and the omegan apostles of Jesus will not overthrow the beast and slay the false prophet with their power, just like Ananias and Sapphira were killed, just like Herod was eaten alive by worms, is so that they may be preserved for the Lord Himself to personally overthrow by the breath of His mouth and the splendour of His coming, as Paul wrote to tell us, and that they would be captured and thrown alive into the Lake of Fire, as John saw in the Revelation.

In fact, I suspect when their days come, it will be the work also of the elect of the Holy Spirit and the apostles of Christ to protect and keep them alive so that scriptures can be fulfilled.  You heard me, it will be the work of the elect and the apostles of Christ to keep them alive.  For you can be certain that less mature Christians who are ignorant of the power of God and the word of God will consider it their sacred duty to oppose and kill the beast and the false prophet to save the world!  Now, that has to be the joke of all times.  Those two must be kept alive for their date with the Lake of Sulphur and it may well be our job to protect them, certainly if not protect them, not kill them.  That is the reason why the two prophets of Revelation 11 who can unleash fire that comes from their mouths and devours their enemies are not permitted to overcome the beast that came out of the Abyss.

Prophets were told by the Lord what was yet to come; that is, prophets by the very definition of their ministry carry the worries of tomorrow in them, both of the Old Testament and the New Covenant, and the false prophet.  That is the very exact nature of their ministry that they have no choice but to speak of tomorrow and therefore worry about tomorrow.  The secret of apostolic power is that apostles have to work to do the work today.  Jesus is not known as the Prophet or Finisher of our faith, but the Apostle of our faith.  He knows what is yet to come, but He knows what to do about today.  When He said to us, “Each day has enough trouble of its own,” He was not trying to frighten us or worry us, but He was showing us the time period where the real power was.  Real power is not about solving problems tomorrow, real power is about solving your problems today, now.  And eternal life is not in tomorrow, eternal life is:  Now this is eternal life…”

God tried to teach Israel to live in the time period of His ‘now’ today, by sending them manna each morning and not permitting them to store up for tomorrow.  Likewise, the word of the Lord Jesus, which is our manna, the Life of our Lord Jesus, His flesh and His blood, is not for tomorrow, it is for now, today.  Today is that day you are to listen, to practise and to follow Him.  Today is the day you are to eat of His flesh and drink His blood.  Today is the day of your salvation as Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to this house…”

If you are worried about your future prosperity, today is the day you should work.  If you are worried about your future health, today is the day you should eat well and exercise.  If you are worried about your death, today is the day you should live.  It is what we know to do today, now, that takes care of tomorrow, and we know what to do today because the Lord told us what we should do now when He said, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.”

And you know what to do to get to know Them.  Listen, practise and follow.  Everyday lived like that is the maturation process, so that when the time is right, suddenly you will find that you have matured, you have grown and you are ready for whatever faces you today, even the arrival of Jesus Christ in clouds of glory.  If you can stand before Him who can overthrow the lawless one with the breath of His mouth and the splendour of His coming, then what can the lawless one do to you?

So, one of the secrets of our warfare is that we have the ability to assign the enemy to his part of the battlefield, whilst we take our choice on the field —and any commander of armies will tell you that he who chooses the battlefield has already won the battle.  Thus, we can assign the enemy to tomorrow, whilst we take today, and as you now know, tomorrow never comes and every day that you wake up to is always called Today.  No one does any work tomorrow; it is only today that any work is done.  As long as we keep the enemy worried about tomorrow, he will not be able to do any work.  As long as we work on everyday called Today to get to know the Father and Jesus, His Son, we have eternal life that will cause our today’s to never end and keep tomorrow forever with its worries away.

The truth then is this:  The power to control time is to live knowing that Jesus will arrive today, and today is the day of our salvation, for now this is eternal life.  Whereas God told His prophets what He would do “on that day,” the Lord will tell His elect and apostles what He will do today, so that Jesus’ arrival will never surprise you, for on the day He arrives, you will know and be dressed, ready to greet Him in the clouds.

For Joshua, God lengthened the day called Today, and for Hezekiah, He made part of yesterday into today, so how much more will He do for you, His elect, and how much more will you be able to do as those who have faith in Christ, because He tells you what is yet to come and gives you the power to be His witnesses, that what He said is true, that He has given you the power not only to solve the worries of today, but the power to create the problems of tomorrow.  You thought He would give you the power to solve the problems of tomorrow only, no, for the truth is that all our problems of tomorrow are solved with Jesus’ arrival, and the real problems for our enemies begin with Jesus’ arrival.  So, anyone who lives each ‘today’ preparing for His arrival is solving all his problems of tomorrow and creating, yes, creating problems for Satan, the beast, the false prophet and all their kind.

As Moses said as one of the blessings of obedience:  The Lord will make you the head, not the tail, so it is with anyone who will continue faithfully listening to Jesus, practising His word and following Him on everyday that is their ‘today’, will be the head, that is, you will be the one and ones who are the cause of trouble and worries for Satan’s tomorrow’s and all those who follow him.

No wonder for three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will … gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the Earth.  Because by then, the world will know that it is the elect and the apostles and prophets of the Lord and the Lord who are the source of all their torment.

Jesus said, “Whatever you loose on Earth will be loosed in Heaven,” and because we have let loose the word that today is the day Jesus arrives, so likewise, the Word has been loosed in Heaven to arrive today!  So get ready for what God has prepared for you today, and enjoy not only what He is telling you, but is enabling you to do on everyday called Today, and let others worry about tomorrow because of you.
