Now the serpent was more crafty and subtle than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.  He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”   See that by the time Satan, that ancient serpent, the dragon, first appeared in the Bible, he was already reduced to the status of a wild animal, that is, an untamed creature of instinct and without choice.  And Paul wrote to the Corinthian church in his second letter:  But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.  The truth is, the serpent, the devil, the dragon, is cunning, subtle, crafty, wary and wise even, for he was “the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.”  And yet by the word of God he was reduced from an anointed cherub, an ascension, spiritual being capable of free choice, to that of a wild animal.  The reason for that is because he had already made his choice to sin, rebel and displace God in order to fulfil the ambition of his heart:  “I will ascend to Heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the Mount of Assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.  I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

And like a wild animal, his fate has been decided for him because he chose to become a wild animal.  He has no control now over his environment, no more than any other wild animal does, and can only respond to the changes of that environment.  Like for any animal, if it rains and the grass grows, it eats, if the rain fails and there is no grass, it starves.  Animals can neither grow food nor store up water, but their very lives are dependent on the provision of God.  Thus, the very life of Satan, his fate and longevity, is completely dependent on the provision of God’s will and judgement; there is no choice for him except God’s choice in every situation.  He knows this and the only thing he is trying to do is drag everyone down with him, humans and spirits (angels) alike.

Since salvation is by grace through faith, salvation is available for those who have not seen but yet believe.  Judgement is for those who know; there is no grace, just the hope of mercy.  Thus, those who know cannot save themselves by faith, whereas Jesus could say to the sinful woman at Simon the Pharisee’s house, “Your faith has saved you, go in peace.”  But the same can never be said for angels who have stood in God’s presence and yet rebelled, for they know who Jesus is, the Holy One of God, yet choose to continue in their rebellion.  For them it will be God’s choice as to whom he will show mercy and compassion to, as He has said, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

The silence in the last chapters of Revelation concerning the fate of the angels who rebelled with Satan holds the hope of mercy, for at least there is nothing written about their place in the Lake of Burning Sulphur, unlike what is written in the book for the four condemned ones, including the serpent.

So know and understand that which is the fate of Satan was already decided before he ever spoke to Eve, not after.  Satan has not been condemned because he deceived Eve.  As such, we, the children of Eve, are not responsible for his fate because of Eve’s gullibility, but rather, Satan condemned himself when he sinned through his own widespread trade before God had even made Adam.  So, just as Christ is the Lamb of God sacrificed before the foundation of the Earth, so Satan condemned himself before the foundation of the Earth.  That is why Jesus can say, “The prince of this world is coming.  He has no hold on Me…”

You see, Jesus has nothing to do with Satan’s own downfall.  Jesus was only obeying the Father in allowing Himself to be crucified before the creation of the world in order to be the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world, not the sins of all creatures.  Man’s ability to sin, that is, to disobey and forsake God because of the freewill given to him by God, was already more than apparent to God, and God had already counted the cost of having to redeem His image when he and she sinned.  This cost for Adam and Eve was prepaid by Jesus, but it never entered God’s mind that Satan should sin, after all, He gave him perfect wisdom, wisdom to save his soul perfectly and so as not to sin.  Satan was, as God said, “You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created…”  Meaning, he was created perfect, faultless, with nothing that could be blamed on God for creating him, so that whatever wickedness was found in him, that is, whatever God-forsakenness that was found in him that would make him say in his heart what is recorded in Isaiah 14:13, did not come from God but from him.

Whereas in Adam’s case, God knew that His image would have to make a choice first to obey or not obey, and knowing Adam and Eve, they were more likely not to obey so that Jesus had to be pre-positioned as the Lamb slain to take away their sins before the dust from which Adam would be formed was even founded.  Thus, for our thinking concerning our enemy to be like that of God, we must first learn to see that Satan had pre-condemned himself before the foundation of the Earth.

Had Satan sinned and wickedness was found in him after Adam and Eve were created, then he too could at least have a claim on Jesus, that the blood of Jesus would take away his sins as well.  For he could at least blame it on the appearance of the image of God through Adam, and God’s choice of leaving Adam and Eve naive of the knowledge of good and evil from the moment they were created.   At least he, that is, Satan, could have accused God of tempting him with such a creature as Eve and Adam.  At least he could have accused God of inciting him to jealousy, for after all he was the model of perfection and now God brings forth His own Image.  At least he could have accused God of tempting him, like leaving a shop in charge of a kleptomaniac.

But you see, he cannot because he sinned before Adam and Eve were formed, that is why his first appearance is described by these words:  Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.  Before Satan spoke to the female image of God, Satan had already fallen, and as such, the blood of Jesus avails not for him, and hence, he has no hold on Jesus.

The fact that Satan made the mistake of getting his hands dirty where he had no business is his mistake because he chose to deceive Eve into sin before Eve and Adam would have sinned without his help.  It meant that as surely as Christ is the sacrificial Lamb that takes away the sin, so Satan made himself the scapegoat that is responsible for the sin.  As Jesus said, “Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come.  It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied round his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.  So watch yourselves.”

You see, the moment the Lord placed in this world a creature with freewill choice like Adam, different from all the other creatures, the propensity and ability to sin, that is, to disobey God, had come.  It was bound to come because it was God’s plan that His gift of freedom of choice would be included in His image to make him like God, but it was never in God’s mind that it would come through Satan, otherwise the crucifixion of Jesus, the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, would also have covered for Satan.

Likewise, Jesus also said, “Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin!  Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!”  As Jesus said, “And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.”  So that everything that has been spoken against Jesus from the moment He began to preach, every fanciful theory and doctrine that waters down His divinity and the completeness of His work will be forgiven.  James the Younger has been and will be forgiven for leading us into the curse of partial observance of the law.  They will all be forgiven because the things that cause all men to sin are in the world.  However, not one of them ever opposed the return of Jesus Christ openly.  They may not have believed or practised every word of Jesus, and their ignorance may have led them into all forms of heresy and even apostasy, but not one of them will match up to the sin of the false prophet.

Understand this so you will not be deceived, not by his flattery, but by misplaced and misdirected compassion and mercy for him.  Through him will come the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit because he will oppose the Holy Spirit to prevent Him from finishing His work that began when He, the Holy Spirit, overshadowed Mary by His power and conceived Jesus in her virgin womb.  A work that continues to this day that will be finished the day Jesus appears on the clouds of Heaven to reign on this Earth for 1000 years.

All other sin by all other false prophets and anti-Christs have been to mislead people to follow them in their way to Heaven and to mispredict the arrival of Jesus, but not one of them has ever opposed the arrival of Jesus Christ.  Even the prophet to the sons of Abraham through Ishmael and Keturah has prophesied that Jesus, son of Mary, will return to rescue His followers from the anti-Christ.

The man who is the anti-Christ, who will breathe life into the image of the beast and use his powers to do miraculous signs on behalf of the beast, is the man who will speak against the Holy Spirit.  See that the false prophet will not do false signs and wonders, no, but as it is written: the false prophet… performed the miraculous signs on his behalf.

His sin is that he will use the real powers of the Holy Spirit to do real miracles to oppose the return of Jesus Christ, whereas all others will use false powers, the counterfeit powers of Satan, to do false miracles, signs and wonders to deceive the people.  It is written:  With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.  You see, he uses real miracles to delude and therefore to deceive, not false miracles.  He uses the very means of the Holy Spirit to speak against the Holy Spirit, as Jesus said, “…but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”

He is one who, having been trained and educated, has received the power to do real miracles in fulfilment of John 14:12, who now will speak out against the arrival of Jesus on clouds of glory, so much so that he will raise up the image of the beast to negate the need for the return of Jesus and will take part in opposing Jesus’ arrival.  Thus, while the Holy Spirit will be speaking to the churches about preparing for Jesus’ return and arrival, and to ensure there are as many servants as possible to greet Him, the false prophet will speak against the Holy Spirit’s agenda and ultimately against the Holy Spirit.  So against the Holy Spirit’s agenda is this one man who will use his powers to perform real miracles to prove that Jesus has already returned in the form of the beast and he will be the one saying to the world, “ ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘there He is!’” and in order to prove that he is speaking the ‘truth’, the sick will be healed, the blind will see, the lame will walk, so that even the elect would be deceived if that were possible.

But it is impossible for the elect of the Holy Spirit to be deceived if they never forget the words of Jesus, if they so memorise the words of Jesus that they do not need the Holy Spirit to remind them, for Jesus Himself said, “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky…  They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory,” and not in a limousine behind bullet proof glass.  The real Christ will come with angels and saints from above.  The false Christ will come by land with the kings and enemies of the world.  In fact, it is when this man, the false prophet, begins to do miraculous signs on behalf of the beast, that is the signal for the two prophets of Revelation 11 to step up and begin to do their miraculous signs of shutting up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters to blood and to strike the Earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.  To counter this, the false prophet will perform his real miracles, that is, miracles that have been performed by Jesus and real men of God like Elijah and the apostles, even causing fire to come down from Heaven to Earth in full view of men, as well as changing water to good wine just like Jesus, and healing those afflicted by the plagues of the two prophets of Revelation 11.

Now, judge for yourselves:  How many in the current church would go to a ministry that can heal the sick, change water to good wine and call down fire from Heaven, whereas how many would go to a ministry that shuts up the sky so it will not rain, change water to undrinkable blood and strike cities with plagues?  That is why elect, as far back as 2006 in the Book of Powers, you were told to prepare yourselves to stand alone as Shammah and Eleazar stood alone because the whole army had fled from the enemy.  The situation you will face is worse than that faced by Shammah and Eleazar, for it will be like a situation where the army of Israel had not just retreated, but actually went over to the side of the Philistines against you.  For you will be set upon by well meaning but deluded people who are deluded by the real miracles performed by the false prophet because they do not know, not only the Scriptures or the power of God, but worst of all, they do not know Jesus.

Your confidence is this, as Jesus said, “See, I have told you ahead of time.  So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.”

So, how will it be possible that the elect will not be deceived?  Firstly, it is not in the mind of God that anyone of you would be deceived, ever.  God does not tempt, but makes all things plainly known so that all will witness that, indeed, He is God who knows the end from the beginning.  Right from the beginning before we even sinned, God had already made known the fate of Satan, noting about him:  the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.

Thus your assurance is that unless you choose to be, you cannot be deceived.  For one thing:

  • You will all have seen Jesus personally before the beast who impersonates arises, so that even looking at the beast you will know he is not the Christ.
  • You have been fore-warned about the false prophet.
  • You will know that the real Son of Man will come from above and not by land or sea, and on clouds of glory and not by any vehicle, ship or plane, however incredible it may appear.
  • You will need no one to remind you of the words of Jesus, not even the Holy Spirit.
  • You will need no one to teach you about the words of Jesus, not even the Holy Spirit, for you will have been completely taught.
  • You will need no one to guide you into the truth of the words of Jesus, for you will have witnessed and tasted for yourself the truth that is the word of Jesus, not even the Holy Spirit.
  • And your zeal to continue to testify for Jesus, even to denouncing the one that the false prophet is trying to pass off as the Christ, will relieve the Holy Spirit of His need to testify.

In short, your one focus to see Jesus return and arrive on clouds of glory should be so overwhelming that, indeed, the Holy Spirit can be taken aside and rest.  And this man of lawlessness can be revealed so the end can come with the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, on the clouds of Heaven with all the glory of the angels and His elect.

You see that is the craftiness, wisdom and wariness of God who knows that the man of rebellion will come, the ultimate anti-Christ, in whom is crystallised all the wickedness and evil of man’s heart, that He has prepared to greet him with a troop of brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ who are made ready to take their stand against him and to oppose him to his face.  So that even he, the false prophet, cannot say that no one warned him.  Even now, the very fine and minute details are being made known so that, indeed, God is the One who knows all from the beginning to the end.

So, what do you think God is thinking at this moment?  And who can tell you except the Holy Spirit?  So, if you have ears, listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying to the churches.
